Rance was BOG. Sure his kicking can be iffy at times if he's uncertain what to do which is becoming rarer as he matures and plays to his strengths and plays within his limitations. However today he was a rock of Gilbraltar in defence with his high marking and he won plenty of footy which is what you need to do as a modern defender.

x2 :thumbsup
x3  :thumbsup and i used to be a massive Rance critic.

Me too GR12. Kid could always find the footy but he'd have 15-20 stats with 5 short kicks and 15 handballs.
Has obviously worked on his kicking and whilst it will never be elite he is an important cog in our defence and yes as the TFT mentioned with Grimes and Chappy in the side will be better.

Memo his game on Buddy last season. :thumbsup
When it comes to the Tigers, i am always glad to be wrong, Tucker.

This guy... His reading of the play and ability to intercept is elite. His kicking is nowhere near as bad as people make out, I dont hold my breath everytime he kicks it. He is quick, agile and fearless, takes a strong mark and breaks lines coming out of defence, something not many key backs can do - the thing thats stopping him from becoming an elite Key Defender is sloppiness. In the 1st qtr he runs back to mop up the ball on defensive 50 15 metres clear, Its 2 on 1 to us, all he needs to do is 1) pick it up and run away if his team mate shephards or  2)play a 1-2 and we're off, instead he slips and the carlton player swoops. I dont think they got a goal from it but fmd.

Then another incident blues player goes down and he makes soft incidental contact in the back, completely unecessary as we had the mop up going. Again not sure if they scored from that but he did have a shot on goal. These are stupid, silly unecessary niggly unforced errors that give away cheap goals and give sides momentum. It happens every game unfortunately which is frustrating bc it brings his otherwise flawless performances down. All bias aside, if these acts ceased I think he could become one of the better key backs in the comp. Can this be cut out of his game or will it always be part of what he brings to the table?

Needs to keep his feet. Has poor balance. Someone should check his ears.

He's really improved no doubt about that but he's got to change his boots or something.
Slipping over at the most critical occassion is unexeptable. He has to address this.
The club that keeps giving.

Griffiths should have come in and bumped his opponent. Rance slipped but if Griff had just blocked for him it would have been easier.

Rance shouldn't have slipped over. He needs to fix this and he'll be an elite backman.
