This number of pre-purchased tickets is likely to see a record amount of fans at the ground, beating last year’s attendance for the Swans v Collingwood game.
With both teams selecting near full strength sides it will be great for fans in the Riverina to see superstars such as Matthew Richardson and Barry Hall in action.
“It’s a good opportunity for fans to take advantage of seeing some of the greats of the game play,” Southern NSW AFL Regional Manager Paul Habel said.
“Both clubs have been open in picking strong teams so it is a good opportunity for players to see the Richardson’s, Foley’s, Hall’s and Goodes’ play,” he said.
There has been a constant flow of tickets throughout the week, with fans from outside the Riverina looking at travelling down for the clash.
“People are travelling to the game from Sydney and Melbourne so I’m sure there will be a good atmosphere,” Narrandera ex-services club assistant manager Bev Ashcroft said.
“Last year was packed and the way tickets have been sold I’m sure it will be this year, tickets are running out fast,” she said.
Ashcroft said the Narrandera Sportsground was in pristine condition with the facilities as good as anywhere outside of Sydney and Melbourne.
“It should be a great night of AFL with some great football and entertainment on show,” she said.
Habel is advising people to get to Narrandera Sportsground nice and early so they can take advantage of the pre-game entertainment on offer.
“The NAB tour will be at the ground which will be fantastic, especially for kids,” he said.
“I urge families to come along and take advantage of a great promotion. There will be several competitions available, past players will be there, there will be music, it should be a great night,” he said.
