Only saw the last 1/4 of the ressies and Putt was on the bench quite a bit of that. Gourdis did a few good things though playing at full back. Casserley's goal running from half back to the 50 and slotting it was pure quality. Only saw Collard get 1 touch as well. If he could get into it a bit more he could be that crumbing forward we seem to need so badly at the moment.

For Coburg Chris Stewart is a good size and was being used mainly as a backup ruckman. Might be some potential there (another Nth Heidelburg player).

Silvestor started well but had a bit of a JON game and gave away a couple of very cheap goals with mistakes that make you just whack yourself in the head. Can't really see the Cat ever getting there at AFL level.

Bit harsh X, while i agree with Jezza that Cat didnt play a great game today. He has been very solid down back in the first two games.

He wasnt beaten badly today just didnt give his usual drive from the backline.

Vasilevski played a great game today in the One's.

that's the one Jezza, was very clean again with his disposal today.

Joey Gazzo was also pretty good in the forward line.

Thanks for the reports everyone  :cheers.

Just a couple of questions for those that went.

How was Connors' fitness given he most most of the preseason?

How was Joel's attitude? Was he accountable?

Who would be in line for promotion IYO next week?

We travelled end to end following the coburg goals where Connors spent most of his time.
Worked hard presented/contested well and will definitely be a handy aquisition to the senior team after a few more games.
Was huffing and puffing a bit after his contests, so needs a few more weeks imo.

Bowden got plenty his attitude seemed fine and he was accountable but he did lairise  a bit too much for my liking, seemed to treat the opposition with a bit of contempt if you like. but that's joel isn't it  ::)

Must mention JON for those that wonder, seemed to get plenty of the footy but just doesn't have the confidence to take the right option when he gets it. if he learns to do this his disposal is good when he takes the first option, it is when he "thinks" that he gets stuck or stuffs up his disposal.
One passage stood out in my mind he got the ball in the clear and his first instinct was to look sideways, get this reflex habit out of the boy and we may just see something.
One thing I did like listening to Rawlings 'first time I have listened to him yesterday' and was quite impressed. no nonsense but no ranting and raving.
He was pretty peeed off at 3 qtr time with Coburg fing around with the ball when they got it and not looking for options up the ground.
This tells me at least at this level that the coaching staff are trying to weed out this indirect indecisiveness of the team.

The Ballarat boys were having a fine old time coming off laughing at how we had done this 2 weeks in a row now.
Think it is fitness and when we get that up, believe me we will be very hard to go past for the flag.  :gotigers

Connors did well and took some nice marks, i dare say he was played up forward due to the loss of Jack.

He was puffing at times but i would think he wouldnt be far away from Seniors, he just needs to play.

Polo may be a chance depending on todays game.

As for Joel, he did well showed a good attitude but didnt dominate in my opinion. Not sure what the point of only playing him for one week is, i say let him play for Coburg again next week and get him to really dominate a game. I would like to see him played on the ball.

Does anybody know if Rhett Jordon (no 64 I think) played in the reserves?

Roosters pip Tigers after siren
Carley Jellett | April 13, 2008 | The Age

NORTH Ballarat remains undefeated after turning around a six-goal deficit early in the match to snatch a one-point win after the siren against the Coburg Tigers at ABD Group Oval.

The come-from-behind win was sealed by Roosters big man Orren Stephenson and left Coburg with its second loss from a winnable position this season. Last week the Tigers gave up a 41-point three-quarter-time lead to lose to the Northern Bullants by three points. Coach Jade Rawlings said Coburg didn't do enough to seal the match when it had the opportunity yesterday.

"When you get beaten after the siren it's always disappointing, but we gave them a chance to get back in the game," Rawlings said, adding the fade-outs were a concern but the losses had been due to poor decision making, not fitness.

"I don't think it is fitness. It's a lack of composure at times and players' decision making. People are obviously going to look at the factors of the last two weeks and think it's fitness, (but) we couldn't be more pleased with our conditioning over summer."

Despite the loss, Rawlings drew on positives after the match. "We've played 12 quarters and I reckon we've played 9½ good ones," he said.

"There's plenty of positives, we are playing a reasonable style, the guys are having a go but we just aren't able to finish our good work."

Dropped Richmond defender Joel Bowden put in an impressive performance as did Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls and Cleve Hughes.

Rawlings said he expected Bowden to return to the Richmond side soon. "Joel was good. He's always got that ability to be able to find the footy, he had it, I think, 37 times today, so there was no problem there. He was solid down back and he went forward and was able to contribute to us kicking a couple of goals late as well.

"You wouldn't imagine he'd be spending too much time with us, depends how the senior side go."

Rhett Jordan didnt get a game again this week, unless there are some injuries he probably wont get much of a go at Coburg
