Polak needs to come in and so does one of Polo and Connors over the next few weeks.
It would be too easy to say either Pettifer or Bowden need to be dropped to accomaodate the aforementioned blokes but even Petts and Joel did the minimum requirement of their duties on Sat night. However Joel does have a lack of accountability and the Swans are a very disciplined and accountable side so perhaps Joel might be the one to make way as the core of the side for the last 6 or 7 weeks have been performing admirably and it would be unfair to drop them.

Bowden & Pettifer have not changed!

Out: Hyde, Pettifer, Bowden

Monk, I'm glad you're not on our selection committee! ;)

We need players fighting for positions and no one ever being assured of retaining their place on reputation or experience alone. Competition for places in the side is the basis of all great teams.

On the other side of the coin is the extremely important aim of developing our young players and attempting to bring them through all together.

Now balancing both goals are the key. If two players are in similiar form and play in a similiar role within the team, then the younger player with more potential to develop should always be given preference over the senior player.

So using this theory as a basis for selection -

Bowden should be replaced by Schulz, Morton or even Jackson/McGuane.

Morton had an off week when he was dropped but (as I mentioned earlier) he is a team player who creates opportunities with his selfless 1%. Without Richo is the forwardline Schulz could bloom and Jackson/McGuane have the size and speed to play as a lead up forward.

All of these players are at similiar level of form to Bowden and have much more potential to improve. Thye also have a good chance of playing together in the future so should be given more opportunities to learn how to play with each other.

I really am disappointed with the inclusion of both Bowden and Petts. All we need is Tiv back this week and we are back to square one..... :'(

Bowden is a much higher class & better player than all of those you mentioned  :lol
what planet you live on
Bowden is one of the most experienced we have at the club his done very well since his return & his still got a few years left in him yet, why every other club in the league would pounce on him if he was traded or delisted
He was dropped back to the Coburg side to change the style of his play & a change of role & it couldnot be done in the senior side & the same with Pettifer to get him to run around alot more & create play
Tivendale has had solid games for the last month & deserves a recall on his form alone
his too good a player for VFL & his got himself back to that highest level & would be a more damaging player than Johnson at present
His also lifted his tackling rate greatly & is in best form & kicking goals every week
Johnson struggles to keep pace with the game & struggles to kick 40 metres on his good day & his decision making is very poor
l think he needs to go back to VFL level & regain that form & decision making
Tivendale needs to be given the chance like everyone else, l been watching him closely & his doing everything asked of him
like it or not he will return soon if not this week
Problem with Richmond is they always buy everyone elses deadwood & they burnout thier own deadwood out & get nothing for them
l see Bowden & Tivendale playing for at least 2 more years each at top level

I think TM is taking the urine out of us  :lol

Sugar's our leading possession winner and takes the hits that would otherwise be targeted at our younger mids. Sure he won't be part of our next premiership side but neither will Tivs. Also Plough said on Sunday Tivs would only get in if say Sugar gets injured.

With the small SCG you don't need a CHF (Polak) so I'm guessing there'll be no change. Every Tiger had at least 11 disposals against the bombers so it's hard to drop anyone.

People wanting King dropped are delusional.
He'd be one of the first picked every week!!! ::)

Not so sure right at the moment.  He was very undisciplined last Saturday and I got the impression Wallace was not amused.  He still seems to be carrying some sort of attitudinal disorder from the week he got all the accolades in the media and then played poorly the next game.  He might be a candidate for a week in the 'bull ring'' back at Coburg.

This thread show the best part of our Club at the moment. There is probably not a player in the team that does not have somebody from Coburg competing for thier spot. Obviously there are some that are relatively safe, but not many in the team could put in poor games for say 4 weeks and think that they would not get dropped. We seem to have big bodied replacements at most postions at Coburg now, not just some skinny kids with potential. I am loving the depth and think it will push all the young ones to get better faster.

Sounds like Polo is right in line for a game going by Rawlings on EOTT.  :thumbsup

Bring him in.

Sorry Kingy.  Take a break, clear your head.

Watched the replay of the first half from Sat night.

Walls was really laying into Kingy - that should be enough for him to keep his place  ;D Who really wants to justify Wallsy comments  :rollin

But agree Polo has to be close to a senior game  :pray

I think Kingy will survive this week as the smaller SCG and the Swans rugby style should suit him if he K.I.S.S. with his running and kicking and he's disciplined with his tackling and pressure. But you're right TA, Polo is eyeing off Kingy's spot if he falls away.
