Richo injury not serious, says club

RICHMOND superstar Matthew Richardson's hamstring injury is not serious, the club believes.

Richardson left the ground during the final quarter of the Tigers' 30-point loss to Carlton at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Coach Terry Wallace said club doctors thought Richardson would have risked tearing his hamstring had he played on.

"He just felt a little bit of a hammy and it's certainly not a tear or anything like that," Wallace said.

"So at that sort of stage, he was in trouble to go back out there … we thought he could rip it if we put him back out there.

"So we'll monitor and we'll get him scanned and see how he comes up, but I don't think there's any major consequence from the action."

Wallace also said Graham Polak and Mitch Morton were "sore boys" after copping heavy knocks during the match.

It doesn't really matter for us as our season is gone but good news for Richo. Hopefully with the break now he won't miss a game.

MATHEMATICALLY we have hope , thanks to the saints beating north.  hopefully the swans flog the pies next week.

why couldnt it have been kane johnson who tore his hammy, wish he tears it off the bone, but he will never tear a hammy cos he cannot run !

kane back in the team, and we lose
king back in the team and we lose

they should both be dropped

spoke to austin waenameri and his parents today, mad tiger family and austin wants to play for us, lets trade sugar, king, and hyde for austin, his dad was a footballer up north and is a cousin of maurice rioli, so genes must be good!

lets chase austin, he would be great for us

Dr Pete Larkins said on the footy show this morning that Richo will miss games after the break. Richo tried to run along the boundary after he came off to test it out and had to pull up.

Scans to determine Matthew Richardson's stint on sidelines
Rebecca Williams | June 30, 2008

RICHMOND'S Matthew Richardson will have scans to find out if he will be sidelined after the mid-season break with a hamstring injury.

The Brownlow Medal fancy sat out most of the last quarter in the loss to Carlton at the MCG on Saturday.

But his injury appeared a small concern for the Tigers yesterday as they came to terms with Graham Polak's condition after he was hit by a tram in a stuff accident on Saturday night.

The Tigers meet West Coast at Subiaco on July 13.

"Richo has pulled up as expected with a sore hamstring," Tigers football manager Paul Armstrong said.

"He will have a scan early in the week to help determine whether he will be available after the bye."

You might find that Richos hammy and knee might keep him sidelined,  ;)
