Out of Contract - Any Interest from Us

There was an article in the papers today. Anyone have any interest in these players?

Jed Adcock - Brisbane
Michael Rischitelli - Brisbane
Rob Warnock - Fremantle
Lachlan Hansen - North Melbourne
Jesse Smith - North Melbourne
Troy Chaplin - Port Adelaide
Daniel Kerr - West Coast
Lindsay Gilbee - Footscray

Adcock or Rischitelli for me.  Both are 22 year old midfielders with a good track record who have learnt under Leigh Matthews.  Don't know why they would want to leave or be up for trade but they would fit in well with our structure and direction forward.

Warnock maybe.
Hansen all potential, too risky for a trade.
Smith and Chaplin not good enough to be worth a trade.
Kerr not a 'cultural' fit for us, too risky.
Gilbee too old for us.

I'd be happy to have any one of that list in our side.
Except perhaps Kerr who is getting a bit old and Gilbee as we have plenty of his type

May not need Chaplin as we seem to have enough tall defenders in the pipeline, but he's 196cm so would give us a tall option down back.

They'd all cost too much to land though. Anyone who writes off Jesse Smith is clueless, the guy has had pretty bad injuries but will be a gun. He was a father son though, so won't go anywhere. Hansen will be great too, people forget that he is only in his 2nd season, has had injuries and has only just broken into the side on a regular basis.

Any of those would be good except Kerr.

Chaplin or Hansen as a trade would be a boon. It would mean we could take a genuine mid pick1 then an in and under at pick2.

I agree with most of this except that I rate Jesse Smith going forward and I think Hansen will  be ok as well. Adcock would add alot to the hardness of our side in the midfield but he can also play down back, Rischitelli can play. I like both players.

Must say that i went to the footy friday night and i thought Hansen was very ordinary.

Havent seen a lot of him but what i seen on Friday night was bad.

Ducked his head a few times in a marking contest and appears scared. A big pass for me.

I'd go for Gilbee for sure. Probably has 3-5 more seasons in him and could be a good mid age player to help us push for finals. Has excellent skillsand pace. Maybe Adcock or Prismall from the younger brigade and maybe Warnock but I'm hoping Gus will take the step up next season.  :pray

If most of them came cheap you would say yes but their current club would want our first pick so it's a no. Let's continue on the path of developing our own champions.

chaplin would be my pick .
he preformed well in the finals last year,and was one of the rare power players who could hold his head up in the grandfinal.
either of the lions players would be handy,but l also thought sherman from the lions would be traded .
