Richmond Members’ free racing funrichmondfc.com.au
Wed 02 Nov, 2011After this week’s Flemington frivolity, the horse-racing spotlight will swing to Sandown Racecourse, for the running of the Zipping Classic (formerly the Sandown Classic) over 2400 metres on Saturday, November 12.
Be there to see Melbourne Cup winner 'Americain' running in the Classic.
As a very special offer, the Melbourne Racing Club will provide 2011 Richmond members with free admittance of the day (upon presentation of their 2011 membership card), which represents a saving of $20 per person.
It shapes as a great day’s racing, and terrific entertainment for Tigers of young and old, with ‘specky’ machines, junior football activities, pony rides, an animal farm, jumping castle, face painting, a “Mascot Stakes” match race between ‘Tiger Stripes Dyer’ and Melbourne Racing Club’s ‘Clip Clop Clyde’, and much more.
Richmond players will be in attendance to sign autographs, assist with the kids’ footy activities, and sing the national anthem before the big race (and maybe offer a racing tip or two).
2012 Richmond memberships and merchandise will be available for purchase on the day.
There will also be a “Fashions on the Field” parade, with more than $14,000 up for grabs in prizes.
Given so many leading jockeys, trainers and members of the horse-racing media barrack for Richmond, this race meeting, in the Club’s traditional suburban heartland, will have a fantastic Tigerish atmosphere.
Gates open at 10.30am, with Tiger players in attendance from 1pm-3pm. For further information, click here
