Just tell them as pathetic as Richmond has been we've still won 5 times as many flags in the past 50 years as the choking Pies have. Malthouse's top-up recruiting for the next 2 years will also hurt them terribly just as our young list begins to mature.

He, Knighter, Benny Gale and Gas were great that day.

I wouldnt forget Bond? in that line up MT.
Ok he didnt get a huge amount of possys himself but he did nullify Bradley who used to hurt us quite a bit back then.

You're right Jacosh. Bondy did a great tagging job. Bradley from memory didn't get a kick until the 3rd quarter or something ridiculous like that and even then that was a free kick for OOTF.

Fox Sports is keeping people passionate about the pigskin  ??? sane during the summer months with Chooseday Night Football of the AFL variety here for your viewing pleasure.

Fans are swamping polling stations - located at foxsports.com.au - to demand which classic match they want to relive.

Each week we will offer up three classic AFL matches, and by voting via foxsports.com.au by 11pm (EDT) Monday, January 18, you get to choose the match you most want to watch.

It sounds simple because it is. For this week's choices, we're offering you three crackers which will go to air on Tuesday, January 19, at 6pm on Fox Sports 2HD and Fox Sports 2. This week's selection will come from one of three pulsating clashes in which one side broke a hoodoo over their opponents. Read on and cast your vote.

Richmond v Adelaide, round eight, 2006
Some people called it basketball crap, others labelled it tactical genius. Whatever it was, Richmond's performance in Joel Bowden's 200th game for the Tigers had a tinge of car crash about it - try as you might, it was impossible to look away. The Crows were flying high after winning five matches on the trot and viewed as a premiership threat at this stage of the season. With Tyson Edwards and his midfield colleagues in rare touch you can see why.

Hawthorn v Essendon, round 20, 2005

Carlton v Brisbane Lions, round 21, 2008

I just finished watching the replay of the Tiger's skin-of-the-teeth victory against Freo in Perth. It was a real against-the-odds effort (for those who've forgotten), with less than a kick the difference in the dying seconds of a 33-minute quarter, the ball locked deep in Freo's forward line, 30,000 braying purple idiots and 3 home-town scumpire's against us.

Great game (well second half at least) to watch even now. 7 goals down in the second quarter with Kouta taking us to the cleaners and it looked like we'd be on the end of another Princes Park hiding. But we kept persisting and persisting playing tough albeit not so skillful footy and never gave up. The Blues were the walking wounded by the end with hardly anyone on the bench and they ran out of gas.

It was the last 10 minutes of the 3rd quarter that started the comeback - Harrison got a free and goaled, Daffy then crumbed and snapped another, and thanks to a great tackle by Funcke which almost knocked him out Rogers bursts through to kick another. Margin went from around 5 goals down to 8 points in just 2 minutes. Timed our run perfectly with Harro putting us finally in front with just 3 mins to go. The Blues made one last push forward but the siren went with the ball 40m out from their goal and their finals hopes dashed  :thumbsup. Too bad "Unleash the Geisch" was wasted on 4 wins in the last 5 games tha year with no chance of finals ourselves.

Benny Gale handballing over Richo's head to score a point is still a classic blooper :lol. Duncan's kicking is not far behind either in the comedy stakes  :help lol although he played a terrific defensive game on one-year wonder Brad Pierce. He, Knighter, Benny Gale and Gas were great that day.

Fantastic game with fantastic memories. The pure passion of the tiger army was seen at its best after the game, the theme song was sung over and over again after the game. A game I will never forget

I don't think "brave" is the applicable word here. It's "masochistic". So that's a resounding NO!!!!

Foxsports have a 'breaking the hoodoo' Chooseday night.

You can vote to see the nail biting, thrill a minute basketball crap match against Adelaide.
And you may not think I care for you

For a smart talented player that would have to be the worst game Benny Gale has ever played.
Maybe it was the jubilation of the win but I had forgotten how bad not only him but the whole team played, they were lucky to scrape through with that win especially being 5 goals down at 1/2 time.

I turned on the tellie when I got home and it was on 7TWO during the second quarter when we were 16 points up. Saw Sartori fumble the ball in the wet and turned it straight off.

I watched most of the second half of the 95 SF last night though  :thumbsup. I wouldn't say we played poorly Jacosh and were lucky to win. 8.10 - 2.3 after half-time with Essendon's 2 goals coming late in junk time was pretty much total domination by us. Not pretty football for sure but we just outworked the Bombers and were ruthless on any lose balls. As much as I hate to say it Collingwood play this style now. Compensating a lack of class across the whole side with hardwork and desperation till the final siren. Bomber players were coming off second best from our hits and they had hardly anyone on the bench to come on by the last quarter. Of course Scotty Turner's hit on O'Donnell in the 3rd quarter being the highlight  ;D. Northey's positional changes after half-time worked a treat as well. Naish and Daffy were pushed further down into the middle of the ground and our midfield that was spanked in the second quarter clicked into gear with wave after wave of attacks.

We played our "GF" that day and had nothing left for the PF especially against our bogey side Geelong. I still believe if Freezer, Richo and Wigney hadn't copped serious injuries (Wigney came back but he never showed his first 9 rounds worth of form again) and we had finished on top of the ladder and avoided Geelong in the finals we would've been a big show for the flag in 1995.

Watched the last half of the '95 Semi. There were a lot of big hits that day.  Dustin Fletcher came off second best in a clash with little Chris Bond, and Turner dished out a nice one to Grenvold, which was payback for Maxfield's broken jaw in the infamous drawn game earlier in the season.
Those two diving marks by Rogers which both resulted in goals late in the game were a treat. As was seeing the sadly departed Jamie "sticky" Tape in action again. Oh the memories. I can't believe it's already 15 years ago.
