There's a new poll on the RFC site.

Of the Tiger debutants so far in the pre-season, who has impressed you the most?

Hands down Alex Rance for mine.
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

I am with WAT (and a few others) and went Rance with honourable mentions to Thompson and Nahas

Rance for sure (not counting Cousins, that a whole different kettle of fish) but they have all showed something. Pretty pleased all up.

Rance of the younguns, Cousins probably shouldn't be on the poll, I'm pretty sure that he will be the popular vote on the RFC site.
Also looking forward to seeing how Andrew Browne goes for Coburg this year after recent glowing reports.
Haven't seen much from Nahas just yet, I think the Aaron Davey comparisons are a little premature

Rance is the standout for mine but with the backline more settled than in years he may struggle more than some of our more underperforming recruits to get a game. Ironic really.

Thomson will be the most likely to get a game sooner rather than later with Hislop and Vickery close behind.

Of the rookies - Nahas fills the greatest need but Browne could well be the greatest find. At 205cm and the good skills at ground level he could be the ruck we need for the future.

TBH,

i would have liked alot more competiton for this spot...Rance is a mile ahead..possibly thomo and to a lesser extent Hislop look likely to debut for tigers soon...I left out cuz...I am referring to debutant as someone yet to establish themselves as senior footballers..nahas, Vickery wont play seniors this year...Post needs to build confidence at Coburg, he's a rough chance should things click at vfl level

Thompson impressed me with his attack on the footy and his 2nd & 3rd efforts defensivley. I see this as a massive advantage for our mid-field, certainly takes some pressure of Tucky as he is the main bloke for that role

Rance was the other one.

Cousins; I didn't include. It wouldn't be fair  ;D

  • Sir
Rance showed enough that he should be in our starting 18 imo. big + and runs like a mudafarker.

B: Thursfeild McGaune Newman
HB: Moore Rance Tambling

Gee chuck him in the deep end at CHB.

I'd think more along the lines of

B: Thursfeild McGaune Newman
HB: Raines, Moore Tambling

I/C: Rance, ...

At least for the first game.  :-\

I agree that we would start Rance on the bench, but like in the practise match against StKilda, I don't think it'd be such a bad idea playing him on the wing to start off with.
