I know this sounds stupid and crazy given we just lost to Melbourne and don't even look like winning a game this year but if results of the other games this rounds follow the betting odds then we could find ourselves just a game out of the Eight  :o after this round if we could finally find the fight and will to win for more than just a quarter  ::). Says something about the mediocity of the middle teams on the ladder doesn't it.

Carlton lose to the Doggies
Brisbane lose to Geelong at Kardinia Park
Essendon/Collingwood - one of them has to lose (excluding a draw)
Eagles lose to Hawthorn in Launceston

This would leave 6 sides on 2 wins, us and Melbourne on 1 win, and Freo winless on the bottom.

I'd love to see the Hawks miss the finals, it would be my favourite moment of the AFL season
They fluked the flag last year, Geelong choked, they didn't win it

All 3 games yesterday went our way and Freo knocking off the Swans  :o is an unexpected bonus. We still need today's games to go our way but if they do then with the Swans and Lions in the next 2 weeks we'll be back in control of our own destiny.

Not sure whether it is a good thing that we have the swans next week or not. Will they be angry or will they be out of it after the Perth trip? Thet seem to have our measure lately

I guess like this week we've just got to worry about what we can control which is ourselves. We ran over the top of one bogey side last night so can we make it two in a row next week. I just hope unlike last year's nightmare we can actually win a centre clearance and we play old-school direct down the guts deep inside the forward line footy which is what you need to do at the small SCG. At least Plough can't put Hyde on Goodes this time around :help.

maybe try rance on goodes

btw lets hope they dont let the grass grow too long at the scg and they dont water log the ground again to slow our pace

not massively relevant with 17 rounds to go, but hey shows just how close this comp is...we now need to win some games against the grain starting this week :gotigers
