Lloyd kicked over 100 goals in 2000-1 and was regularly around the 90 mark when the Bombers made the finals pre-2004. As Essendon fell away so did the number of goals he kicked per season. One of the best kicks for goals in his prime but spoiled himself by diving for frees which the umps always fell for until his reputation for doing so eventually caught up with him. I can still remember him in a game in early 2000 just deliberately falling to ground between Gas and Chubba with no one touching him and he was paid the free
.
Lloyd obviously didn't agree with Knighter on his role and has quit. He wanted to play FF as captain and Knighter's most likely told him Watson will be captain and Lloyd would have to play across HF next year with Neagle and Gumbleton in the main KPP roles.
