I think that it is good that Campbell had the balls to say he isn't ready for the job.
If he feels this way and took it on all it would get us is what we have now.

spot on mate. i say well done to Campbell. No hidden agenda's like Sheeds just a real honest assesment that he is not ready.

he deserves all the credit he deserves for pulling out.

he puts the club first like he did when he pulled short his career just to reach that 300 club

Well done to Wayne for having the dignity to pull out after realising he is not the right person for the role. After reading his comments and him saying that he is only 80% confident he could do the role it makes we wonder what could have happened. Imagine Wayne going into the role 80% sure of himself, the players would sense this and we are back at square one. I do hope that Wayne stays on as an assistant coach though under the new coach as I believe he still has something to offer.

Jackstar, Wayne pulling out has nothing to do with what you call a "basket case" club. We are not a basket case and as far as Longmire goes, he wants the Roos and thats that mate it's nothing to do with our club or your percieved impressions of our club. There is still a long list of extremely highly qualified candidates that will go through the process. Those candidates wan't to coach this great club of our's just as we as supporters love to follow this great club through thick and thin....... well mopst of us.... :thumbsup

Absolutely agree

Great courage Campbell to say "I'm not ready yet".

Put the CLub first for that he deserve a helluva lot of respect  :clapping

Good move
If you're not confident in yourself, how are we supposed to be.
Do what Knighta did and get some experience

Its got nothing to do with it.
Ask you all this, why dont people want the job now?  Longmire said absolutely not, and there a few others who have said, not interesed , why ????

I take Wayne Campbell on his word Jack - if he says he isn't ready, then he isn't ready. To think or suggest thoerwise is a slight on Wayne's character I would argue

No problem with them looking at Mick and Leigh - I would be much much more disappointed if they didn't.  That's the purpose of the process - explore all the possibilities and make the best informed choice possible.

And re: Campbell - well done, showed a lot of character and honesty (that many on here have accused him of not having).

I was wrong about Campbell, the fact that he understands his shortcomings makes him a true pro in my book :thumbsup
