Answer to all draft pick order questions [merged]
« on: July 19, 2009, 05:29:56 PM »
Where does today's draw leave us with draft picks. Can we drop one more ??
All I want to see now is Melbourne & west Coast lose their picks now.   Add Freo also to make the draft an even playing field.
These draft picks and there discussion is leaving a sour taste in my mouth.  Shouldnt be hoping your team will lose ??

Answer to all draft pick order questions

I hope this will answer everybody's questions about the order of draft picks.

Currently, the situation is like this.

North Melbourne - 4.5 wins (No priority)
West Coast - 4 wins (Lose their 1st round priority pick if they win 1 more or draw 1)
Richmond - 3.5 wins (Lose our 2nd round priority pick if we win 1.  If we draw once, we still get the priority, but may lose pick #1 depending on other results)
Melbourne - 3 wins (Lose their 1st round priority pick if they win 2 more, or win 1 and draw 1)
Fremantle - 3 wins (Lose their 2nd round priority pick if they win 2 more, or win 1 and draw 1)

Winnable games for each of the bottom 4 clubs:

West Coast - Fremantle, North Melbourne, Richmond (All at Subiaco)
Richmond - Melbourne, Sydney, West Coast (MCG, MCG, Subiaco)
Melbourne - Sydney, Richmond, North Melbourne, Fremantle (Manuka, MCG, Etihad, MCG)
Fremantle - West Coast, Port Adelaide, Melbourne (Subiaco, Subiaco, MCG)

I've bolded the teams that the teams on the left will probably beat if Richmond really does want the #1 pick and the 2nd round priority pick.

Once again, I hope this helped.  ;D

So we've got another draw up our sleeves  :-\

If Melbourne and Freo win next week we could find ourselves on the bottom of the ladder with the Melbourne game a battle over who loses their priority pick  :help.

I have a plan stan. ;)
We dont we try and change the culture
Get a new coach but also implement the following
A complete change of staff behind the scenes.
And I aint talking about the new coach bringing 4 or 5 of his best mates either, as the past coach did.
This process can only be driven from the President Ceo and the board, and if they aint going to do it, we will still be talking about missing the finals and tanking and losing games and sacking yet another coach in 5 years times, get the message .
Furthermore, if they wont do it, step aside and put a board ,CEO and President who wants to drive change.
If very clear that the current situation aint working.
We are pretty soft on and off the ground, we show no balls at trade period and we usually trade our picks for duds anyway.
We have serious problems with the development of young players at the club ( apart from a few who have recently shown signs )  Anyone seen Cleve  by the way.  Or Daniel Connors. ::)
Mate I am not negative, but its hard to be positive when your 7 goals up against a team of spastics and dont win the game.  They had one player today, Harvey
