its ok that he hits up targets but we need players who can kick goals from 50+ metres on the run
He kicked a goal being front and square of the pack...i dont think he needs to kick it from 50+ metres on the run...Not many players can do that anyway...I think his disposal and hitting targets and setting up the other forwards would be enough...My only concerns are his body holdining up and defensive pressure from the forward line...
Another year for mine...
At my age l can still kick 50m on the run both sides,
so current AFL players have no excuse to not be able to kick it on thier natrual side 50m at full pace.
If a player cant kick goals from 50m on the run they should not be playing senior football
AT ANY LEVEL When a player like Nathan Brown who l know can kick 50m on both sides, my concern is that he is still not 100% fit or his confidence is shot because he is worried about agravating the injuries his carried. If that is the case he should be playing for Coburg till his 100% fit & get his confidence in his body right mentaly. You cannot carry mentaly weak players.
Goes back to what l say in other threads that Richmond has a habit playing unfit players who cannot carry out thier job for 4 quarters & this affects the overall performance of the team because other players are not getting the required rest carrying injured players & become extremely fatigued.
Is another way clubs can also hide tanking by playing unfit players & using it as a excuse for having no or limited interchange to rest players.
Its amazing how players go down with what look like serious injuries when the game is in the balance only to see them ok at the final siren or when walking out to thier cars after a game with no limp & in a hurry, makes you wonder.
In any case what l see of Nathan Brown l would offer him a 1 year contract if his final games are more than just average, his is a great player to have around the younger group to teach them.
Its also a great credit to him for getting back playing AFL after a shocking injury
which many players with that type of injury are lucky to even play football again.
