WP - Wayne Campbell (thank god)

I think it's funny how I was firmly on the "sack March" campaign for the previous 2 years, however only now when he's not appointing the exact person some want in charge then they've jumped on board. The other weird thing is that I've jumped off for the moment.
I think the negativity and destabilisation he brought to the club last year was massively damaging to the side for 2009, he had a pretty poor background as a businessman also. His media work is average and that's being kind. He seems to know what to say to placate the ferals, but I've never thought there was much substance there as a club president.

That being said, I have no problem with the way he's handled himself this year. He's still crap answering questions in the media, however he's refused to make decisions based on public pressure and I've been wanting a president that does that for 20+ years. I hope the reason Jackstar is peeed off is because March is not paying any attention to coteries exerting pressure on the club to do what they demand as has been the cancer of this club for decades. I have no idea if that is the case, however I hope it is.

March has to go, the process is flawed.
No wonder people turn there back on punt road

TW is gone and now you looking for new head to cut off. For god sake cant you ever say anything positive about our Club.

Personally I like the way they have gone about this, the media hasnt made it easy yet the process still look fine. In all honesty it wont realy matter who they pick as the coach, the media and idiots like you will snipe and shoot from afar, under the cover of the internet. To some the decision will be wrong no matter who it is.

The number of times i have read as long as they get "The right person for the Club" or "The best person" is making me sick. Who is the right or best person ?? There is no such thing. A person can bring some Talents to a Club but a football Club is a team effort, the coach is just one part of that team. Let them get on with it, let them look for what ever abilities they think will help the team the most and lets support the Club as a whole. The only thing thats a circus is the media. Offourse those that want the RFC to be a circus will believe it is one and will tell it to the world constantly.

King & Longmire never even put their hand up, Longmire wants to go back to his old club (if he wants to even consider leaving Sydney)
Buckley didn't even start our process before accepting a job back at his old club

Can't exactly turn your back on us if they never faced us in the first place

You cant have it both ways, the guys you mentioned wanted the nod for the job and didnt want to go through the process.

I have no problem with March in the last couple of years as I can see hes trying to put some backbone into the management of the club. The knee jerk decisions have stopped and the leaks are drying up.

Laidley would be a backward step for the club, he just wont have the desire and patience to rebuilt our playing list to be a powerhouse again.

Hold on, King was 4-1 second favorite 5 weeks ago and pulled out.
Buckley has told friends that he had grave doubts about the stablity at Punt Rd.
Longwire wants nothing to do with them thus he turned his back when approached

Geez your getting a bit carried away now JJ, King was never an option and he was only ever in the betting for the Caretakers role.

Longmire was never approached by Richmond and to be honest why would we want that sour dopey individual at our club anyway.

Your starting to sound a bit too much like KB now, you wont rest until everyone that was at the club at the time TW told you thanks but no thanks is gone.........

By the way the process is about identifying the best candidate for the job, now if that means some dont go through the exact same channels as others then so be it but lets not get hysterical about the process cause it suits your delusional arguments.

Wayne Campbell - too inexperienced
Nathan Buckley - in love with Collingwood and didn't want to leave the nest. He didn't want the North job either that was laid out on a platter for him.
Kevin Sheedy - past it even though some people are still in denial to that fact
David King - you called him a dud yourself and wanted him out of Punt Rd with Plough. The bookies had Cambo favourite for the caretaker role and they were wrong
John Longmuire - he wants to coach the club he played for like Buckley
Leigh Matthews - not interested in any coaching gig.
I'm no Laidley fan and would prefer a younger coach who is hungry but talking to him is hardly a hanging offence. A lot of people getting their knickers in a knot for nothing. I don't reckon Laidley deep down will want to go again as senior coach so soon after getting the flick. More likely he'd be better suited to a different role within a footy department.
