Kayne Pettifer's father was killed last night in a car accident in Wagga. This hasn't hit the mainstream media yet, but it has been confirmed. Mick was a good bloke who played and coached local footy for a long time.

Whatever your thoughts on Kayne are, this is very sad news.

Bloody craphouse news for the young fella and his family.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Car crash kills Tiger Kayne Pettifer's dad
August 17, 2009

THE father of Richmond half-forward Kayne Pettifer has died in a horrific car accident.

Kenneth "Mick" Pettifer was a passenger when the ute he was in hit a tree in Uranquinty, a small village about 15km southwest of Wagga Wagga, about 10.30am yesterday.

Mr Pettifer was killed instantly. The driver of the ute died later in hospital.

Inspector Paul Huxtable said the accident happened in an isolated area. "There's nothing to indicate what happened and there (were) no witnesses," he said.

Kayne Pettifer, 27, spent Saturday night celebrating at retired teammate Joel Bowden's testimonial, but drove back to Kyabram yesterday. He has not played since Round 11 and suffered another injury last month.

A Richmond spokeswoman said the club's sympathy went to Pettifer and his family.
