can someone find out where Cotch is at and how far he is away from resuming full training.

Surely someone knows something on here and how good he is tracking along

Went to training again today.  Cotch was in the rehab group along with Farmer, Hislop, Rance, Tambling, Collins and Foley.  Most of them went off around halfway through, though Collins may have stayed a bit longer and Foley and Tambling did light kicking drills.

Cheers Danog  :)

I went to training as well today but watched from the grandstand as you know it was bloody hot in the sun  :P.

I think Thomson was in the rehab group as well.

Cotch - a man in a boy's body is still the reason they are giving. I don't think he's meant to be back into full training until December at least but that's what I heard about a month ago.

Foley - not his ankle. More back of the foot (achilles?).

I'm not sure what was wrong with Blingers but he told a friend of mine on Monday he's okay so hopefully nothing too bad.

As for main training everyone else on our list was present plus Ben Clifton and the two Irish. I was told by a friend Hooper trained with us last week but she hadn't seen him this week. The other Coburg boys trained with us on Monday.

Training started with a standard kick to kick. They then worked on running off half-back and kicking over a teammate's head running away from them on the wing so the receiver didn't have to break stride. Most of the drills today involved this type of kick in some way. This was followed by full ground rebound work. Basically bringing it out of defence one side to half-back then going inside the corridor and switching with a longer kick to the fat side wing.

They mids also worked on stoppage plays (both ball-ups and throw-ins) and clearance work. Linking up and hard running in numbers. The emphasis today seem to be on quick movement and keeping the ball moving forward. A lot easier of course at training with no opposition.

The main squad then went inside to change into runners and then they came out after 2 hours of training and did a few 800m (two laps) runs. All the coaches joined in as well. Jacko and Whitey finished well in front in the first run with Edwards and Nahas next followed by Lids.

Cuz didn't do the running with the others as he had already ran a few laps during main training.

I took a couple of photos so I'll post them later on. Any questions fire away.

ps. I was also told O'Reilly has really improved in the short time he's been training with us. He participated in the full training today. The other Irish boy McCann who's on trial with us spent some time with Tim Clarke working on his kicking technique with a Sherrin.

I left after they went to change into their runners (thought it was finished).

I posted pics here.  The university proxy doesn't let me upload videos, so I'll just upload the small ones when I get home.

What was Whitey thinking. His new nickname should be romper stomper  :D.

And speaking of nicknames Edwards doesn't like being called "Titch".

I sizzled in the sun.  :-\
I learnt that lesson the hard way watching previous years training sessions at Vic Park  :P. I watched the first 15 minutes in the sun and then popped up into the Grandstand. Even poor Leppa after years living in Qld was saying it was too bloody hot.

Edwards was being called 'Sheddy' by his team-mates.

Thanks for all the reports and photos guys, great stuff... :clapping

I really hope Cotch can get up and about before the season proper.
