Also kept Boland on for too long after Bairstow got out and kept Starc out of the attack until it was too late... :shh

Gutless by the selectors

Bolster the batting by bringing in Green because they haven't got the guts to drop Warner

And fancy not playing a spinner

Have to agree Dio, we deserve to lose with that line up

Aussies 4/184 at Tea.

Smith  41
Labuschagne 51
Head   47*
Marsh  1*

Two soft dismissals that session where both Smith and Labuschagne each simply missed an average delivered ball they normally wouldn't. Three of our top four with decent starts and all threw away their wickets.

Aussies 8/299 at stumps Day 1.

Head 48
Marsh 51
Green 16
Carey 20
Starc 23*
Cummins 1*

Many starts but no one went on thanks to mostly soft dismissals. We'll most likely end up 100 runs less than what we should've got.

Once again head and marsh have rescued an innings somewhat.

The rest of them were hopeless.

Time will tell if they needed a spinner. Looks like a right call so far on this deck  but who knows.

Go to bed at lunch and we're on top

Get up this morning and we've fallen in a heap again.

Should always have a spinner if for nothing else but some variety. And on this deck most recently it has taken spin on days 4 and 5

I would have played Neser over Green given Green's current form.

And someone else over Warner. Harris maybe.

Weather would have played a part in the decision

Australia all out for 317

Cummins went first ball of the day = another stupid shot meaning soft dismissal

Starc 36 not out

Another really ordinary batting display

Let's see what the bowlers can do

The Captain needs to stand up and not only bowl well but captain well

And based on his captaincy effort last test I have no confidence he can do the captaincy bit well
