Picking Burns ahead of Harris and opening with Wade... :facepalm

Yep.

And as much as I don't like Warner he needs to get straight back in the team. Pucovski as well when he's right.

Pucovski may not return though this summer given it was about his tenth concussion.

Wow! India 6/19 :o. Lost last 5 wickets for just 4 runs including their guns Kohli, Pujara & Rahane.

India 36 ... their lowest ever score.

Hazlewood 5/8.

Cummins' last ball may have broken Shami's bowling arm too. Ouch!

Aussies need 90 to win. No gimme though given the pitch and the form or lack of of our bats.

Aussies win :clapping.

Burns finishes it with a six to bring up an unbeaten 51. Wade made 33.

We may get B2B MCG tests with what is going on in Sydney.

Shami's arm is broken according to MMM. So that's two big outs for India.

For us the question is who goes out for Warner? Burns will probably keep his spot now so it's Wade, Head or Green as the newbie who will be in the gun.

Nope, still suffering from concussion

Have to remember he has had mulriple concussions in his career (even at junior level)

Must be extra cautious

Nkpe, still suffering from concussion

Have to remember he has had mulriple concussions in his career (even at junior level)

Must be extra cautious

doubt he will make it TBH, gets hit in the head too often, something technically wrong with his technique

Actually great article in last Saturday's Age by Greg Chappell about helmets, concussion and how stats are showing more players getting hit on the head these days because they are being taught to bat wearing helmets.

He wasnt advocating no helmets but highlighted that Ricky Ponting was probably the last international player in Australia that was coached to play sphort pitched bowling in lower levels without a helemt and that helps expalins why he was so good at the hook and pull shots. Article suggests players shpuld also get taught to bat without a helmet. Ponting in the article agrees

Chappell said that because of helmets players dont keep their eyes on the ball, follow the line of the ball, usually in many cases turn their head and take the hit to the helmet.

As l said it was great read, incredibly interesting and raised some valid points.

I've thought for awhile and said it to my cricketing mates that the reason so many players get hit is because they turn away from the ball, thus taking their eyes off it.  Wearing a helmet allows them to do that. Have always though that was a flaw in batting technique

Think in the case lf Pucovski after watching his last couple of hits to the helmet the article is extremely relevant

Aussies batting first.
