He is definitely the first Australian male player to score a double ton in ODI

But he is not the first Australian to do so. That record goes to Belinda Clarke.

Info came straight from a media tweet. To be honest, I barely remember any one-day innings and didn't check if the tweet was correct. Just assumed it was :-\. I see Nine's WWOS twitter has deleted their initial post and corrected it. Anyway, corrected my post above as well.

The first Aussie male to score a DOUBLE! And Australia's second-highest ODI total EVER!

Very wrong WP
Woman’s sport does count
But in most it just doesn’t compare

Her innings was in 1997 against Denmark .. woman’s cricket back then is incomparable to the game now .. it’s that far better now in terms of quality

So, well done Belinda (I mean that, she was a star)

But, in this instance, what she did pales into insignificance compared to last night

Question for you WP, do you take interest in male netball? Nor do I .. but I’m sure there are some good players taking part .. how about synchronised swimming , I’m sure we go ok at that as well, or rhythmic gymnastics

I went to sleep when we were 4 down thinking we were stuffed. Little did I know I was going to miss arguably the greatest ODI innings ever seen!

Bloody 9-5 job getting in the way of witnessing history  :snidegrin

Fair points Damo

But my point was simply Maxwell wasn't the first Aussie to do it. So the initial reporting was incorrect and it's frustrating

No I don't follow men's netball but do watch the odd local game of mixed netball. It's great to watch

Haha I had a similar experience with Aus vs SA after the 13-14 ashes I think it was, when Johnson was slaughtering everyone.

That last test when Harris bowled them out with like 5 overs to go on D5.

I went to bed thinking they're stuffed. Took a crap and whipped out the phone to see it was all over lol. Shattered.

Bangladesh 8/306 after their 50 overs.

Hazlewood 0/21 (7)
Cummins   0/56 (8 )
Abbott       2/61 (10)
Marsh        0/48 (4)
Zampa       2/32 (10)
Head          0/33 (6)
Stoinis        1/45 (5)

Starc and Maxwell rested.

------

In the other game tonight.

Pakistan's qualification scenarios:

If England score 50: chase in 2.0 overs
If England score 100: chase in 2.5 overs
If England score 150: chase in 3.4 overs
If England score 200: chase in 4.3 overs
If England score 300: chase in 6.1 overs

A miracle needed.
