pathetic. The club should be held to account here both in the way it was handled and also the fact we now have a 34 year old trying to fill the void.

id also like to know who went for the job meehan was given. Was it an exhaustive process or did he bradbury the role? Does anyone actually know

Can you please explain to me how exactly the Club was supposed to handle a severely broken foot that required surgery that is taking time to heal?

No ranting or potting individuals who are not responsiblefor the injury, just answer the question. How should it have been handled?

Very much doubt you'll get a straight answer there WP.

Something seriously wrong here.. instead of being close to playing he will head for surgery and be ready for next year.. why wasn't proper surgery done already.
This is amateur BS from RFC

Who said the surgery wasn't done right the first time?

The recovery form his type of surgery is a slow process depending on how the bone heals (what my podiatristsaid). We are taking about a bloke who weighs in at over 100 kgs. So not letting it heal properly isn't a option.

Struth wouldn't want people on here managing someone who's had signfocant surgery on metatarsal bones.

You'd have them back their feet running or working in a month and then be mortified if the bones broke again

But hey let's blame the club rather saying thank goodness they are being conservative and not rushing him back, risking him breaking it again and then being out indefinitely or absolute worst case not playing again

My thoughts exactly.  What a waste of a year. Surgery now , why not when it happened

yep,

spends the whole pre-season repairing an injury in his foot only to be rushed in for round 1. Now they take the long road because he injured the other foot after being rushed at the start of the year.

when lynch did this injury did he return to the field, and what foot was injured during the pre-season?

Gibcus same boat. Its becoming a habit under Louis

I'm all for defending the club against pot shots but it's hard not to be really bewildered at how some injuries have been treated and the length they have taken compared to what other teams have gone through.

19yo hamstring in pre season hasn't played a game. Appreciate injuries happen but hard to see an elite program being run with this happening.
Broken foot ends up being season after round 4? Again bone healing is something nobody can control but still, I don't see other clubs having 19 week+ injuries from bone injuries.

i'm no doctor, will never claim to be and don't enjoy whacking the club or any individuals but those stats aren't something to be proud of and wouldn't be happening in the most elite set up in sport. It is what it is but creates plenty of disappointment, especially when you consider the players were extremely important to this years structure and success.

I don't know how many times I have to post this and I know you ignore it because it doesn't suit your argument

But the break has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the plantar fascia problem he had pre-season. I was told this by not 1 but 2 people who would know.

The break was caused by a Bulldogs player stomping on his foot in contest. Yes he did return to the field because he wasn't going to do any further damage, that is it was going to get any worse.

He had surgery, plate inserted in his foot. It was always going to take significant time to heal. The Club has followed everything the specialists have advised after every scan.

Why is he having, ore surgery? Most probably to put on another plate to strengthen the bone and enable it to heal so the bloke can keep playing footy

But as said let's just go whack because it suits a narrative

This is not correct WP.
Lynch has come out personally and said it was not a collision injury.
Said he had a hot spot from incorrect loading ( change of gait ) due to his plantar fasciitis injuring and he actually heard the bone crack whilst running. Think the interview was a podcast with Dylan Buckley.

WP you may be correct , but it's been a mess our fitness and conditioning last 2 seasons we're not talking isolated incidents to many reoccurrences,  soft tissues etc and players rushed back very poor management preseason fitness wasn't great either club took short cuts in this department.

I will it dig out and have listen thank you

Still believe he copped a whack to it early in the game and it was sore after that. As I said got told that by 2 different people who would know  :shh Throw in high pressure running and it all make sense as to how bad the break was.

But yes a change in gait can cause new issues with feet. My podiatrist said the same thing to me when my foot that had plantar fasciitis got better but then I developed a problem in the other foot due to the gait change from over over compensating

I agree with the soft tissue injuries, it's been a disaster and simply not good enough.

But I have to say though I find it amusing that because we have taken the cautious approach with most of the hamstring injuries as the years gone on and not rushed players back people are now complaining that recoveries are taking too long

Though hammies seem to be a very common theme across the comp this season. Shorter preseason now; have to question what if any impact it has  :huh

It’s the inaccurate time frames which kills me. Gibcus was “just a few weeks” and lynch was “some time after the bye” . I feel like the club should be better with this aspect of communicated the injuries

Lynch and Gibcus

Two new players for next year

This is a great point.

A lot will be said where ever we finish with the licks we gave up. Dare I say we would not have let the licks go if we knew we would finish bottom 6-8. Who could have predicted we get 4 games out of Lynch and Gibcus combined. Turn that to 46 and I'm confident in saying we would have been top 8 easily.
