A lot of hype about Matthew towards the end of last year.

Anyone know how he is tracking atm??

Got injured early in the pre-season and was in rehab for most of it but played in extra/VFL segment of the practice match the other day.... :shh

Surely he and Clarke are better options than Mansell and MRJ.

Does he have the tank to be a winger?

Does alright there in the VFL - looks to have the pace , composure & disposal we need... whether that translates to AFL at this point in his career is another matter but only one way to find out in a year where we've got nothing to lose but draft positions..... :shh

If it doesnt translate to wing he certainly has the goal sense pace and a huge motor to play as a forward. But hey lets keep playing fumbles Rioli junior and Mansell there. Boy those boys are smashing the scoreboard  ::).

If that's the case, with all our outs why hasn't he been given a crack? At least as a small fwd. (Mind you it's not like the ball is coming to ground in the fwd line ATM for a small fwd 🤦) If this year is showing Yze anything it's that he really needs to test out all his players for the upcoming rebuild. Play the kids!!!

100% agree  Campbell has hit a wall. But boy he has shown some real good traits that says he will succeed at the level.Mansell well he is a battler and is not a forwards hole he too has been pretty damn ordinary for weeks now.
Seth well He needs to go back now having had a real good block of games. MRJ yep i have seen enough time to look at other options as a forward at least.

Its time to see what others like Coulthard and Cumberland can dish up for the next three or five weeks.Play these two with Bolton who remains by far our most damaging small forward by some margin.
Lets ask em all to hit the scoreboard and not just be defensive nothing role players.

Fair swap that one I'd reckon. Give Seth a few back in magoos and bring him back when required

Actually thinking about it a bit more

I'd drop Banks this week and bring in Coulthard

Just for some perspective, Matt had a badly interrupted pre-season missing about half of it.  His first few weeks in the VFL were not the greatest.  Games against Werribee and Casey his GPS numbers were good/great (so he's got the endurance) but his positioning needed to improve.  Last Saturday against Coburg I'd argue that he both did the work and got to the right positions and apart from a couple of early mis-kicks his disposal was a level above (similar to Tom Brown where he picks out and hits a teammate amongst 3 or 4 opposition).  I'd be arguing for him in this week as well.  Has earnt it.  Last two weeks have been on the wing as well.
