Id love a real update on Gibcus, havent heard anything.
'Spy' says Gibbo is finally on the way back to returning now. Did some kicking drills with the main group at training today. The rest was running as part of his rehab. So positive signs.

Give bradtke a go while Lynch is out.

Ryan ruck/forward.

Soldo can take 1st ruck.

Dimma said Gibcus and possibly Tarrant will play a half in the VFL the following weekend (our VFL team has the bye this week).

Nank is around 2-3 weeks away.

Lynch is out of his moonboot but is still a "medium term" prospect as far as returning. Usually that means 4-6 weeks away.

The club hasn't said yet if it's a reoccurrence of the plantar fasciitis, but it sounds as though Soldo has re-injured that foot after just one game back :P.

Ryan and Miller are not up to rucking out a full game against senior-bodied ruckmen. Losing Nank and Soldo is a huge blow and nullifies much of our contested ball strength

The Pies are on top of the ladder and the best clearance team in the league, despite using Grigg-style rucks.

its not that its dimmas fault, or someone elses fault.

The fitness department are doing a fantastic job for the last 2 years.

Latest injury update from Physical Performance Manager Luke Meehan ahead of Friday night's Round 9 clash with Geelong at the MCG.

Josh Gibcus, hamstring

"It's been a long time, Josh has had a few setbacks with his wound. Things have been really good the last four-to-six weeks, he's put in a really good block. All things being good and he trains this week, he'll be available for some minutes in the VFL this Saturday, which will be exciting."

Ivan Soldo, foot

"Ivan's dealing with a pretty tricky foot problem. He's a test for later this week. We're hoping things progress really well, and if he gets through some work later in the week, he'll be available. But, we'll have to see where it's at."

Toby Nankervis, ankle

"Toby's going really well which is great. He's working really hard, as everyone would expect. We're hoping to get him involved in a little bit of football this week, and all things being good, available next week possibly, but definitely the week after."

Maurice Rioli, hamstring

"He's going really well, it's been a couple of weeks now and he's running really well. We have to be really careful, everyone knows how explosive Maurice is. So, we'll make sure we get this right, (even) if we have to take a little bit longer than we expected when we started, but he's going really well at the moment."

Tom Lynch, foot

"Tom's moved out of his moon boot which is really pleasing. He's going to see his specialist next week. Once he sees him, we'll start to formulate a plan for his return to running and then eventually football, but he's still a while away unfortunately."

Robbie Tarrant, hip

"Robbie's had a really good couple of weeks. Last Saturday in the wet out here he had a great session, so he's putting together some good work. We're going to ramp up the football and see how we go, but it's really positive at the moment and we're hoping to get him back into some footy soon."

Mate Colina, back

"We've actually seen some specialists outside of the footy club with Mate. He's in a period now where we haven't been doing any work, we actually gave him some time away from the club. He's coming back in this week, so we'll get our eyes on him and start formulating a plan back from there."

Kaleb Smith, ankle

"This is a tricky injury, things stagnated a little bit with Kaleb. But, he's a really positive kid and working really hard. We've seen some specialists outside of the Club and we're hoping to get him going again in a couple of weeks. We're a little bit unsure with how it's going to go, but he's working really hard and hopefully we'll see him soon."

Seth Campbell, adductor

"Seth's had a really stop-start year unfortunately. We made the decision a couple of weeks ago to take him out of the footy program again and really work on his strength and things have progressed really well since then. We're hoping after another week or two of de-loading, we'll get him back into the program."

Tom Brown, wrist

"Tom's been working really hard. Obviously, he's been able to run the whole time he's been injured and he's been working really hard on his fitness. He goes to see a specialist next week and hopefully gets the all clear to resume footy after that, and we'll be seeing Tom really soon which will be pleasing."
