Dimma was asked about Stack this morning:

"He was just head down bum up on the weekend. It was great to see our players when he kicked his first goal get around him. So it's great to just have him back playing footy at the lower level. He's got a little bit of work to do, Syd, but he certainly can play the game. He's just got to get fit and get himself available for AFL footy. But for us, it's just great he's back playing footy and getting his life back on track which is important for us and for Sydney."

Sydney Stack has been offered a fine with an early guilty plea following the VFL's match review of Richmond's Round 2 loss to Casey Demons on Saturday afternoon.

Charge Laid:

Sydney Stack, Richmond
, has been charged for striking Casey Demons player James Munro during the second quarter of the VFL Round Two match between Richmond and Casey Demons on Saturday, April 24 at the Swinburne Centre.

Based on the available video evidence and medical report, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and Body Contact. The incident was classified as a one-match sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacted the penalty.

An early guilty plea enables the player to accept a $600 fine (AFL Listed) and a reprimand.

Dimma talking about Syd today:

"He's getting closer. Once again with Sydney it's a slowly slowly process. He's missed a hell of lot of footy. He's missed a lot of the preseason. He's just finding his legs on the footy field and off-field as well. What we really have been been pleased with is his made positive inroads both on and off field. It's exciting for us. We know he can play the game. He's an exciting talent just sitting there waiting in the wings. We've just got to make sure we give him the very best chance possible to continue his AFL career".

I agree 100% with robbo for probably the first time ever.

Stack should never have been jailed for that. Absolute rubbish decision any way you want to look at it.

VFL report could thwart Stack as he stakes AFL claim

The AFL has confirmed Stack was reported for striking the Bullants’ Sunny Brazier, with the incident to be reviewed on Monday.

Richmond’s VFL side lost by 13 points to the Northern Bullants on Saturday but Stack, who hasn’t played at AFL level since his 10-match suspension for a hub breach on the Gold Coast last year, had 29 disposals in the clash at Preston City Oval.

West Australian Stack is out-of-contract at season’s end but there is no rush for a new deal. Instead the Tigers and Stack’s management decided to let things play out until late in the season after an off-season in which Stack found himself in jail in WA after breaking bio-security rules.

“No discussions around future contract at this point – that was planned [for] well in the back end of season just leave pressure off Syd and the club,” his manager Paul Peos of Inside 50 said on Sunday.

“He is more generally going really well, happy, fit and playing consistently good footy at VFL level and keen to get [an] opportunity to go up.”

Should only be a fine. It happens multiple times per game and the player reacted to get the free kick.

Should he be getting one week because he has lost his good record?

If he didn't have a good record he wouldn't have been given the option for an early plea & fine and would've just been suspended straight off the bat... :shh

Free to play this week.
It's time. Come on Sydney.
Did Stack get off or just cop a fine?
Fine. Was a week but down to a fine due to having “no record”. Which is funny cos he got a fine earlier in the season for striking but who’s complaining
