Still life in the old Tiger yet...if he's managed properly.... :shh

Obviously got stung by the criticism last week

Agree Dio, we will get more of that if they manage him properly

As good as Cotch was last week, it's concerning how much we still depend on him having games like he did last week. He can't play midfield for 4 quarters anymore as he's lost a yard and he can't fully extend his legs when he kicks anymore. He had 23 possies but just 6 kicks and only 124 metres gained today. That's just 5m per disposal. We need others to take over the workload in the midfield and be that battering ram that Cotch has been but as we've seen in rounds 1 & 3 they aren't  :help.

Yeah spot on MT.

We also have to acknowledge that we are missing our two best mids plus Lambert. We don't have the depth to cover em. It's as simple as that. Cotch as 4th or 5th mid is OK but he can't be number 1 vs Steele Cripps Neale etc anymore.

Its as simple as he cannot do it week in week out. Time to start him on the bench and let RC-D strutt his stuff.
As for Edwards as much as i have grown to respect his game he is also shot and is probably stopping a kid getting valuable games.

Father time has caught up with a few. Cotch, JR8, Edwards just to name 3. That Dusty isnt around has made it worse but its time to understand the era is over. We need to go to the draft and bring in kids and use free agency as best we can. Thats it really.

The trouble with playing a fading old bloke as 4th 5th 6th midfield wheel is it denies a kid games and experience.
Its a bit of damned if you do damned if ya don't.
what stage we are at should determine what we do here. Imo there is no flag in the offing for us this year and it is time to prioritise youth over age.

Yep, it happens to all great teams.

Time to play the kids, get some good draft picks and find the next generation.

I understand the case to play kids but I don’t agree with playing kids unless they earn it at vfl level banging the door down for the coaches to select them week in week out.

I don’t think removing standards and expectations the club has built our success on is a great idea and it then breeds poor culture within the club.

Raise the bar and demand excellence and don’t lower the standards required and players will have to prove themselves worthy especially the kids.
The club that keeps giving.

What so we should continue to play the duds that let us down every week in the seniors?  Ross, Soldo, Aarts, Castagna, Cotchin, Edwards, Graham have all been putrid this year.

If you just play kids without the protection of seniors it will kill confidence. They need to be managed

expect a few 10 goal plus thrashings if play too many kids at the same time

Cripps confidence seems to have held up ok and how many thrashings has he been on the end of?

It's the biggest cliche in footy to say young players are scarred from being played too early.

The best kids with the right attitude will always do well irrespective of the circumstances they are placed in.

A ten goal thrashing is not going to be any worse than we got from the Blues and Saints.

just so you understand , it’s if you play just kids with no senior players it as issue and that’s what management means.
If you want to just play kids have a look at the reserves score on the weekend
