India 1/77 at stumps. So, they trail by just 100 runs.

Murphy got his first test wicket on debut.

Disappointing pitch preparation IMO.

I think there really should be some firmer rules about pitch prep. I don't mind having a pitch that favours pace or spin but specifically watering 1 side to favour a team over the other is poor.

India 7/321 at stumps Day 2. A lead of 144 runs.

--------------

Australia batter Matt Renshaw has received the all-clear after being sent for scans on a sore knee during the first Test against India.

The left-hander experienced soreness in his right knee ahead of Australia's warm-up on Friday.

Renshaw then put ice on his knee but was directed to go for scans as a precaution.

However, the Queenslander passed a fitness test and returned to the field late in the second session on Friday.

Australia will continue to monitor Renshaw's progress but he is expected to bat in the second innings.

Aussies all out for 91  .......... Smith 25*, Labuschagne 17 the only ones to get past 10 runs.

Lost by an innings and 132 runs  :P.

Embarrassing, pathetic, insipid are just 3 words to describe that batting display.

Our top order cannot play spin. Aust are home track bullies.

Pat Cummins had a shocker as Captain.

And the arrogance of not playing a tour game instead choosing to prepare in Australia. What an absolute joke.

You reap what you sow.

Warner should have retired after the last series.

No idea why Renshaw was brought in for Head lol. Head can bowl decent spin too.

Technically Renshaw wasn't bought in for Head, Hanscombe was. Renshaw was already in the team, they just promoted him a spot.

Head shouldn't have been dropped. If they are going to use the feeble excuse about his record on the subcontinent and against spin then Warner should have been dropped as well

Pathetic by the selectors

I'd actually have Renshaw open with Khawaja, bring in Head.

Both Green and Hazlewood are unlikely to be fit for the 2nd test but at least Starc will be back

3 for 94 at lunch

Smith out for 2nd ball duck

Warner failed again

Khawaja 50 not out

3 spinners and only 1 paceman..

Suppose that means Lyon opens the bowling

I'm starting to believe our selectors are clueless

Yes, Cummins so far is playing a very good captain's knock

Australia all out for 263.

Khawaja 81
Hanscombe 72 not out. He and Uzzie the only ones who seem, to have a clue against spin bowling
Cummins 33

Marnus next best with 18

Another poor batting effort.
