Rfc Games: 154
Rfc Goals: 306. (10th highest overall)

Position: Full forward
Best return: 10 goals, R8 1991 vs Collingwood.

Recruited from: Mt Waverley H.S.
Debut: 1986.
Departed RFC: 1993. Traded to Fitzroy for pick 26 (Stephen Jurica) in the 1993 National AFL draft. Played a further 40 games for 41 goals. Retired 1996.

Honours: Club captain 1993; Club leading goalkicker 1988 (57 goals), 1989 (34), 1991 (68), 1992 (45), 1993 (57).

Played in a rotten era for a player.  Pretty good versatile player (play up back or fwd) when we didn't have many.  His 10 goals was a highlight v Pies.The trade for him wasn't a bad one either - Dundas, Gale and Broderick for memory.  Was Jamie Elliot in on this deal or was that another one?

Felt Hogg had been shafted a bit after a good career with the Tiges, but as was proven, he didn't last much long (back injury i think).  Always wondered if he felt bitter as a result towards the club and if he still has any involvement/interest.

its a shame his back screwed his career. a very underrated player and captain. his 10 goal haul v the pies is  a day i will never forget, if ui recall it was the mothers day masacre and kb's best coaching day day.

At the time I always wanted us to have 3 Jeff Hoggs. One at Full Forward, One at Full Back and one anywhere else along the spine. He was a very good player who played in a poo team and who was underated.

Growing up my mates had heros in their side like Abeltt, Dunstall, Carey, Locket...

I had Hogg.

I too was a Hoggy fan.  As has been mentioned if he were in a reasonable team he would have been twice the player. I bled when he was transferred but in hindsight it was a good move.  Sometimes you have to give up something good to receive something good.

According to the 2004 AFL yearbook which has a draft history, we got Brodders, Gale and Dundas in exchange for pick #6 and received pick #26 in return for Hoggy. We then picked up Jamie Elliot in the PSD (#3).

Hoggy was injury-riddled when we traded him. His best was behind him and we had a young Richo to replace him in the forward line.

He was a gifted player. Unfortunate to play in a bad era which made his job as a forward difficult but he still had his moments. I'd rank him up there with the likes of Gary Lyon.

Yep, Hoggy was a Gun.

I remember he even performed well for a Victorian second team that played up in Brisbane if i remember correctly.

Its a shame we dont have a young Hogg in our team now.
