Was meatball injured against Freo or was this during the break ?. Puzzling they mentioned it this week.
McQaulter said Dion injured it right at the end of the game against St Kilda. They are hoping he will miss just the one week.

 Dion Prestia            Calf                  Test
 Rhyan Mansell     Suspension        Round 18
 Seth Campbell     Adductor           1-3 weeks
 Josh Gibcus         Hamstring         4-6 weeks
 Jayden Short       Hamstring         4-6 weeks
 Mate Colina            Back             7-12 weeks
 Tom Lynch              Foot             7-12 weeks
 Robbie Tarrant         Hip               Indefinite
 Kaleb Smith           Ankle               Season

Early prognosis

Dustin Martin is available to face Sydney after missing last week's heavy loss to Brisbane with illness, while Prestia is a test. Given the latter's lengthy soft-tissue injury history, he is unlikely to be risked if there is any doubt. Short has suffered a "medium-term" hamstring injury.

Andrew McQualter addresses Jacob Bauer injury severity, defends Tigers’ soft-tissue susceptibility

Jack Jovanovski

Interim Richmond senior coach Andrew McQualter has addressed the severity of debutant Jacob Bauer's hamstring injury, as well as defended the Tigers' knack for picking up soft-tissue ailments in recent times.

Speaking to the media post-game, McQualter expressed disappointment for Bauer, who notched a pair of effective disposals before falling victim to his ailment.

"Yeah, poor bugger, two kicks in two minutes and then off with a hammy," McQualter said.

"[We're] not really sure of how severe, but, being unable to come back on, we assume he'll miss a couple of weeks, it's a real shame for him.

On Thursday, Bauer became the latest Tiger to be sidelined with a hamstring, joining midfielders Jayden Short and Dion Prestia as the club's recent soft-tissue victims.

Consequently, McQualter was quizzed on the topic of Richmond's frequent acquiescence to soft-tissue injuries.

"I don't think they're any more significant in the last couple of weeks than (any other period of time), I think footy clubs go through injuries all the time, unfortunately, these things happen and we move on."

Latest injury update from Physical Performance Manager Luke Meehan ahead of Sunday's Round 18 clash with West Coast at Optus Stadium.

Jacob Bauer, hamstring

"It was heartbreaking, wasn't it. Right at the start of the game, two minutes in, Jacob's turned and hit a kick and felt his hamstring. He tried to battle on, as he does, he's pretty tough, Jacob. We made the call to take him off, he's hurt himself and it's probably on the minor end of things. Shattering, really, given the circumstances. The good news is he's started moving again today and his mood's picked up, and we look forward to having him back in the short-term."

Jayden Short, hamstring

"Shorty's jumping out of his skin to get back, as everyone would expect. He's running, things are progressing really well.... We'll see Jayden back pretty soon."

Tom Lynch, foot

"No update at the moment, it's a very frustrating, slow process and no one's more frustrated than Tom. We're going to take zero risks with Tom, the bone healing process is really slow and it's something we have to be really careful with."

Josh Gibcus, hamstring

"Josh is working really hard, he's putting in a great block. He's looking stronger in the gym and he's starting to increase his speed outside. He has a really important scan in two weeks' time and we'll know more then."

Seth Campbell, adductor

"Some good news here, Seth's put in an awesome month of work and did probably his biggest session since he's been at the Club last Thursday. He's commenced skills with the team and we're hoping to see some game time against Box Hill next week."

Mate Colina, back

"We got some good news on Mate finally, after seeing some specialists. His scans are all clear with his back, he's commenced some on-field running. We're going to spend the rest of this season getting him really strong and with good technique, and set him up for for a good off-season and pre-season."

Looking forward to finally seeing if Campbell lives up to the hype. Greatest rookie pick since Milne according to some. :shh

Early prognosis
Richmond has said Short is running, is progressing well and will be "back pretty soon", but the club's timeline is still "medium-term". Bauer's debut ended after only a few minutes, but in a rare bit of good news, it's at the minor end of the scale. Colina's long-term back issue is resolving, and his focus for the remainder of the season will be building fitness, rather than VFL matches. Rhyan Mansell is now available for selection after serving a three-match suspension for rough conduct, while Nankervis heads to his own three-week break. – Sarah Black

RFC web-site says "medium term"

The AFL website is the one that has allocated the number of weeks. They guess the weeks.

But whatever

I reckon it will be 2 more weeks :whistle

Club's are super cautious with hammies these days
