Hopper (inj) -> Sonsie
Kmac -> McAuliffe
Banks -> Short
Naismith -> Ryan

However, I fear they will drop a cub like Campbell after one poor game.

I lost count of the number of 1 handed disposals.
No surprise seeing the MCC's team playing rah-rah.

Can Brighton tonight do the Gunners a favour?

GRADING EVERY PLAYER AS DEES TAKE CARE OF TIGERS IN ANZAC EVE CLASH

By Lachlan Geleit
SEN
25 April 2024

Our player ratings:

Richmond

Maurice Rioli Jr: B+

Was very good, particularly in the first three quarters as a deep forward. Kicked a couple of goals.

Thomson Dow: B+

Perhaps his best game at AFL level? Showed some real signs of class and composure and finished with 22 disposals and eight tackles.

Nick Vlastuin: B+

Continued his quality season and finished with a typical seven-mark, 20-disposal stat-line.

Liam Baker: B+

Jacob Hopper: B+

Was subbed out late in the third term with a hamstring injury but was probably the best on-baller on the ground before that. Finished with 23 disposals.

Shai Bolton: B

Kicked a goal and had 18 touches but really could have done a lot more. This grade might be harsh, but he is capable of much more.

Toby Nankervis: B

Battled well and can hold his head up high against Max Gawn.

Ben Miller: B

Completely shut down Petty and was strong aerially all game.

Hugo Ralphsmith: B

A quality game from the young outside runner. Finished with 21 disposals and did well to go head-to-head with Ed Langdon all night.

Tylar Young: B

Did well in key defence playing primarily on Jacob Van Rooyen.

Nathan Broad: B-

Daniel Rioli: B-

Finished with 23 disposals.

Marlion Pickett: B-

Didn’t do a lot offensively but played an important role in limiting Christian Petracca’s influence whenever the ball went away from the contest.

Dustin Martin: B-

Kicked an early goal and had 18 disposals but didn’t have a big impact.

Tom Brown: C+

Mykelti Lefau: C+

Was beaten too often but still showed some nice signs as an emerging forward.

Sam Naismith: C

Dylan Grimes: C

Sam Banks: C

Jack Graham: C-

Rhyan Mansell: C-

Seth Campbell: D

Kamdyn McIntosh: N/A

Started as the sub for just the fourth time in his career and came on for Jacob Hopper in the fourth term.

IS DANIEL RIOLI THE “MISSING PIECE OF THE PUZZLE” FOR GOLD COAST?

By Lachlan Geleit
SEN
25 April 2024

Champion Data expert analyst Daniel Hoyne thinks that Richmond defender Daniel Rioli could be the missing link for the Gold Coast Suns.

Reports last week emerged from 10 News Queensland that Rioli caught up with his former coach Damien Hardwick during Richmond’s bye week while in the Sunshine State.

While no trade rumours have really emerged from there, that meeting caused Hoyne to ponder what Rioli would look like playing for his former coach again but in Suns colours.

Given that the Suns are poor offensively in 2024, Hoyne thinks that Rioli could be a perfect addition for the improving club.

“I was interested to hear about discussions around Daniel Rioli and whatever's going on up there,” Hoyne said on SEN Sportsday.

“But it got me thinking that a player like him is absolutely ideal for where Gold Coast are heading and probably one of the final pieces of their team at the moment.

“In terms of what they're doing without the footy, they’re second best behind Geelong this year which is a huge tick for Hardwick. They have the fifth-worst offensive profile in the competition, mainly because there's no team that struggles to move the ball more than what Gold Coast are doing at the moment.

“So far this season, they have rotated eight half-back flankers through their team, across six weeks.”

Pickett fined.

RICHMOND'S Marlion Pickett has escaped suspension but handed a massive fine for his strike on Melbourne's Clayton Oliver on Wednesday night.

Pickett has been charged with striking, his second offence, which has triggered a $6250 fine, which can be reduced to $3750 with an early plea.

It means he's free to play against Fremantle at the MCG next week.

Maurice Rioli has taken a step forward this year. He appears to be fitter and capable of sustaining his bursts for longer. When he is near the ball, good things happen for the Tigers. He booted two goals with his 14 possessions and laid four tackles.
