One last time
« on: July 03, 2011, 11:13:36 AM »
Hi everyone, yesterday meant more to me than all other weeks. Reason being is my father-in-law, ex tiger player, and life member of the past players club,  passed away during the week.
Paul Morrison only played 5 odd senior games for the Tigers before blowing out his knee in 1970 cutting short his career. Since then he has helped the club out with his time and money and been one eyed since leaving his family and friends at the age of 16 from Tassie to join the Tigers.
During the week one of our family members tried to get the Tigers to wear black arm bands for Paul but the club in their wisdom decided they could not. Not really sure of the reason but with life membership of the past players club and his years of help for the club i didn’t think that was asking too much.
Anyway, lots of family and friends all came alone yesterday and spent the afternoon in the past players lounge and watched  Pauls belovered Tigers one last time in memory of Paul.

Not a great day for the club and not a great week for our family.

Rest in peace Paul we loved you very much.

Another diabolical decision. Shows a complete lack of respect. This club doesnt respect anything anymore. WTF has happened to our club!

Sorry to hear that BT.  Remember the good things and the positives that your father-in-law brought to the club and your life.

Sorry to hear that BT  :(.

He was before my time but your father-in-law BT must have been a pretty good young footballer to play in a strong Richmond era as a 17 year old.

pee poor work from the RFC.

No harm in putting some tape around the lads arms.

I actually have to say Im disgusted if the club refused to wear the armbands. Shows a total lack of respect or anything. Just disgraceful. :banghead

Any player who has worn the RFC jumper should be honoured with black armbands the following weekend regardless of how many senior games they have played. That way we keep the link between the past and the present and honour it accordingly.
