I feel a bit bad for Houli, he got sold a nightmare pass and got stitched up didn't want to give a deliberate out of bounds, stopped on the whistle, but the bummer didn't go behind the mark just ran off and kicked the goal. He won't ever let that happen again I bet, but it was one of those effing ridiculous situations where in the past you would of killed the ball but now the AFL rules nazis have so many caveats and if buts and maybes the poor bastards dunno what to do.
Yeah Owl spot on.
Looking at the play hurts to watch but,
1. Helbig missed the target Houli and therefor wasn't able to take a mark go back and assess things, as the clear instruction was ice the clock till 3 qtr time.
2. Trying to ice the clock the members wing was congested so Houli looked to go back to the southern stand wing looking for free options. There was none, no-one was working hard enough for him. I think Helbig was manned up.
3. No options with Crameri bearing down, can't kick it long to touch, probably got a bake last week for bombing the ball out of defence without looking as he kicked it to Carlton wingers all day.
4. Fell over. Gone.
I was more upset at the rest of the group not helping out and working hard to make an option.
I was annoyed at Houli who gave up when tackled, couldn't understand why he would just accept the holiding the ball decision. He could have handpassed it along the boundary or atleast ridden the tackle out of bounds.
Worst case scenario if hes tackled force the crab to kick a goal from the boundary, don't sook up and let him walk into an open goal.
