Who's burning up the track at your club?

RICHMOND

Who's burning?
Second-year blues shouldn't be a problem for Daniel Rioli after an excellent pre-season. The 19-year-old showed promising signs in his debut season and while he has looked good on the track, his leadership has made him a standout. Rioli has mentored some of the club's draftees and has taken a special interest in Shai Bolton.

Defender Dylan Grimes has battled injury troubles in the past but his body has held firm throughout this preparation.

Running defender Oleg Markov should build on an impressive debut late last season after a strong effort in the time trial for the Tigers' younger players early this year.

Who's not?

Star forward Jack Riewoldt has been compromised this pre-season after a right ankle reconstruction and two bouts of surgery on the little finger on his right hand.

Ex-Sun Dion Prestia had a slow start to pre-season after having his 2016 ended by a knee operation.

Ben Griffiths and Corey Ellis had groin issues, tough defender Steve Morris is recovering from a knee reconstruction and young onballer Jack Graham is alongside him in the rehab group after a hamstring injury. The Tigers expect the draftee to join the main group soon.

Really good to hear about Rioli. Was really impressed by him last year. Hopefully he has a really good year.

What a surprise

Err no he had surgery post season 2016 like ummm Jake Riewoldt did

And just like Riewoldt and others coming back from surgeries has been on n a modified training program

No new injury at all

Want whack, go ahead but whack on the facts not on what you want to believe is the case

It was obvious the club played Griff injured at the end of last season. Why wouldn't they just put him up for surgery earlier so he could have had a full preseason? It's not like we were looking at making the 8.... :whistle

Our injury and list management leaves a lot to be desired.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Another one of your cheap shots at another poster  ::)

He is not injured. Can I make it any clearer. He is on restricted program post surgery for an injury he carried most of the 2nd half of last season.

He has not sustained any new injury - get It? So how can he be injured again? Your words not mine

There is a massive difference between being injured and being on a modified program due to recovering from surgery.

Seriously which part of it dont you understand.

We have to win games to build momentum for the following season remember?  :lol

Seems to me he is affected by injury hence he is on a modified program that is preventing him doing full training. If it was now the season proper that  recovery process would stop him playing.

He didn't play the last three games if i recall. Not sure how by playing him it would translate into winning games anyway. he played 13 games and only three of them were good ones. One of them against essendon was pretty late in the season so he could not have been too badly injured .

Strained his groin near the end of the Essendon game right in front of me. Clearly hobbled off. Then played the next two games and looked clearly hampered. Trained with the club to get into the team for the last few games. Should have not played after the Essendon game as he was clearly injured.
