What's with the constant whinging, Dimma?

Damien Barrett

THEY sold themselves as "Hungry and Humble", the Tigers, in last year's Amazon Making Their Mark documentary series.

They might still be hungry, and will certainly need to be after falling to 5-5 following a round 10 loss to Brisbane. But they're not humble. Well, at the very least, the coach isn't presenting himself and his club in such a manner.

Damien Hardwick seems to be at war with AFL headquarters at the moment. For no reason. Last week it was "I hate Marvel Stadium" and on Friday night he somehow managed to whinge about umpires at half-time of the Lions game at the Gabba. In another era of AFL administration, think Ian Collins and even Andrew Demetriou, and in other major sports around the world, Hardwick would have been sanctioned for his negative comments.

Surely he is on a final chance.

Hardwick wont go down quietly & good on him!  Journos like Barrett want to label it a whinge, but in a war of words what else can Hardwick do but fire back with words?  If broadswords & muskets were allowed there would be blood on the floor, none of it Hardwick's ....

Barrett could always listen to the words & see the truth in them (20-6 free kicks at half time & our players constantly being called to play on for no reason) but that just wont sell papers or gain clicks right now.  Hating Richmond & trying to bring them down will do both of those things at the moment.     ::)
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!  Loud, proud & dangerous!

Correct, easy targets at the moment. Tall poppy syndrome. If North came out and said they need to see some consistency from the umpires it wouldn’t make news. The fact is a half time free kick count of 20-6 when we were ahead or at least even on the score board and leading the tackle count tells a significant story. All these stats being thrown up about behind in possessions, clearances and hardball gets have little bearing on the outcome of games for us and we’ve shown that for 5 years. As everyone keeps saying, it’s not the ones paid against us (although I thought these last few weeks there have been plenty of very soft or even non existent frees paid against us). It’s the lack of obvious frees that go unrecognised.

There just ignoring the facts bottom of the free kick count 3 years in a row this year minus what 60 plus frees. Pickett shouldn't even been appealing his suspension if a free was payed to him.

As of marvel well we a entitled to play our home games we're we want to much dictatorship from the afl.Imagine telling Liverpool no you can't play at home.Last year we were away from home all of 2020 lost revenue,  merchandise etc etc  being a flag year so why can't me make it up.

ps. Barrett is a Norf supporter by the way.

pps. From 2016:

Brad Scott fined $30,000 by AFL for accusing umpires of bias, North Melbourne cops $50,000 punishment

Hmm Damian which of the following is the elephant in the room its so obvious that even a blind bat like you can see it.

Free kick Differentials

Adelaide +21
Brisbane -17 SHEESH THEIR DIFFERENTIAL IMPROVED OUT OF SIGHT THIS WEEK BY JUST PLAYING US.
Carlton +24
Collingwood - 5
Essendon +20
Fremantle - 13
Geelong +15
GCS -9
GWS +24
Hawthorn -33 almost half as bad as us lol
Melbourne +11
North Melbourne + 21
Port Adelaide -7
RICHMOND DAMIEN ITS THE ELEPHANT - 68
StKilda -19
Sydney +5
WCE +3
Western Hounds +31

The club would be remiss even negligent if it was not asking the question.

From Barrett's 'Sliding Doors' column today:

IF ...
I thought Damien Hardwick was sooking it up in May with his complaints about having to play at Marvel Stadium, and in having an in-game, on-camera crack at umpires at the Gabba ...

THEN ...
maybe it was actually an attempt at smoke-screening deeper Tigers problems. Thursday night's loss to the lowly Suns producing the loudest alarm bell yet that the dynasty is done.
