Bolton's emergence, Lynch's big year and blooding youngsters

There was nothing that jumped right out from the Tigers so we’ll touch on a few subjects.

Shai Bolton’s emergence as a genuine star of the competition was a highlight. He went from talented forward/midfielder to an All-Australian who averaged close to 18 disposals and kicked 43 goals.

He was one of Richmond’s best players in 2022 alongside key forward Tom Lynch who produced one of the very best seasons of his career.

Lynch returned 63 goals, took the most contested marks and was mighty stiff not to be selected in the All-Australian team.

The club also blooded youngsters as they attempt to rebuild on the run while keeping the premiership window open.

The form of the likes of Maurice Rioli Jnr, Noah Cumberland, Josh Gibcus, Tyler Sonsie, Judson Clark and co. was a major positive for the Tigers.

Actually see MRJ’s moments as being the big positives for 2022. If he can string those moments into quarters then he will most likely become our most important player in 2023. He is one, fitness permitting, that I would start to play midfield minutes next year.
