Front row at David Jones summer 2008 collection
Megan Miller | Herald-Sun | August 16, 2008

THE front row at a fashion show is a territory where egos prowl and the city's corporate types and social set find out how hot they really are.

Top model Miranda Kerr might have been the star attraction of David Jones' fashion extravaganza at the Melbourne Town Hall on Wednesday night, but just as much attention was being paid to who was sitting where, who was perched with whom, and why the hell that bitch has got a better seat than I have.
........

Usually front-row fodder, footballers and their WAGs were relegated to the second row, victims of reduced seating thanks to a shorter runway as organisers used the extra space to accommodate comfortable after-party mingling.

But Richmond's Nathan Brown and his girlfriend Sally Prowd got lucky when DJ's group general manager of stores, Paul Zahra, had empty seats and, being a Tigers fan, directed the two be upgraded.

The spare seats were going to go to St Kilda's Nick Riewoldt and his former soap star girlfriend, Stephanie McIntosh.

But two coveted spots went begging, filled by PR girls when actor Charlie Clausen and his plus-one didn't turn up.
