Not sure what happened but here's what Newman said in the papers ....Tiger flag not yet on agendaJon Ralph | March 20, 2009
RICHMOND captain Chris Newman says talk of a premiership this year is premature, but believes the Tigers have assembled the best list since he arrived at the club in 2001.
While Newman said the list was suitably wowed by Kevin Sheedy's urgent message at Wednesday's season launch, he said finals were the first priority.
"We have got to back our own ability and have confidence that we can mix it with the best in the comp. But we are trying not to get ahead of ourselves too early, and we are in no position to get ahead of ourselves," Newman said.
"We haven't played finals football since 2001.
"There hasn't been a lot of success at the club since I have been there, but there are certainly the right things in place to be able to gain some momentum.
"Sheeds got up and addressed the players.
"The boys get a big thrill out of older players inspiring us in their own way and Kevin has certainly got a way of doing that. A lot of the boys were jumping out of their skin, ready to play."

I think we've had a pretty long summer and we've trialled a few things and worked on a few things with our game plan and structure. We're really confident that on any given day, we can be competitive against any side."
