If Richo is retired?
« on: August 26, 2009, 06:00:44 AM »
If the big fella is retired then how do we honour his contribution to the club in the absence of a farewell game? Should we retire his number for a few years and then give it to a player that best resembles how Richo played? (Hopefully not the worst kick on goal!)EG. the no.5 at Hawthorn and Sam Mitchell being chosen  by the Crimmins family to wear it as he best resembled Crimmos approach.  A statue ? :lol Suggestions?

Sad day when Richo does finally retire but if he did this year then he'll probably get to say goodbye on the back of a open car before our first home game next year.

As for the #12 guernsey, I'd reckon they'll retire it for a year before giving it to a new cub. Who wore it before Richo?

Matthew deserves a lot of fuss when he announces his retirement but a statue might be a little bit over the top.

I believe a statue should be reserved for the next individual significantly responsible for our 11th flag.

Are there any club awards left we can name after Richo ?

Or perhaps if we continue our rd 1 tradition against Carlton we can play for the Richardson/Kernahan Cup.

Richo should have a statue outside the MCG. He holds the record for most goals at the ground doesn't he? Sheesh we've played our home games there for the last 45 years including 5 flags in that time yet amongst all the sporting statues there's not one representing the RFC.

The dynamic duo should both pull the pin.
