RFC General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson on 3aw
« on: June 26, 2015, 06:44:25 PM »
Dan Richardson was just on 3aw:

* Spoke about the Rance negotiations and his re-signing for 4 years. He said the negotiations went smoothly and we gave Alex the time and space to think about the things important to him.

* Asked about Ivan Maric's form? Dan said Ivan's work around the ground has been good and he drags others in the team along with him.

* Asked about if we are looking for a future ruckman to help Ivan and for the post-Ivan era? Dan Richardson said we've brought in Hampson to help Ivan, to which Tony Shaw replied "well that hasn't worked". Dan Richardson replied that Hampson is out injured at the moment. Dan then added looking at rucks in something we'll do but he didn't mention anything specific or any time frame.

* We're still a relatively young group and young groups are inconsistent. We believe we are improving our consistency. We're an emotive club and bring a lot of passion to people outside. So we try to remain calm on the inside.

* When asked if we are chasing Dangerfield, Dan Richardson replied he doesn't like talking about other clubs' players. We're keen to improve our list. We hope most of that improvement will come from within. If a player is avail. Midfield depth is our focus in terms of improving our list. We feel we have good midfield depth coming through in McIntosh, Corey Ellis and Menadue but we are always on the look out for good players.

* Apparently, Hannebery turned down a 6-year contract offer from Richmond.

Good to see Dan the Man determined to continue that oh-so successful Richmond tradition of overrating our list.  :gotigers
