Landmark day for AFL talent scouts

ONE of the great AFL dynasties moved into the next generation when Richmond midfielder Shane Tuck and wife Katherine celebrated the birth of son Will on New Year's Day.
Will has a blue-blood football pedigree.
Grandfather Michael Tuck played an AFL/VFL record 426 games for Hawthorn; his great uncle is the legendary Gary Ablett Sr; his cousins are Geelong premiership heroes Gary Ablett Jr and brother Nathan, and his dad has played 69 games for the Tigers.
That is "baggage" Shane Tuck knows all about, but right now he and Katherine are simply proud parents for the first time.
"It's awesome. I'm loving it," the 26-year-old Tuck said after changing his first nappy yesterday.
As for the future, is Will a preferred Tiger, Hawk or even a Cat?
"I'm not going to worry about any of that," Tuck said.
"I grew up with all that stuff and it almost did my head in. When the time comes, Will can do whatever he likes."
Born at 3.15pm, Will will celebrate his birthday eight days later than his dad, who was born on Christmas Eve.
