Sheedy's first official day on the job was today.

Joel, Rainesy and Cuz were with Sheedy on the Punt Rd Oval. Sheeds teased Cuz about wearing singlet and said he hadn't seen those since 1963. Cuz replied it's all he could afford lol.

Job is to recruit more sponsors and members. He wants the club to have the biggest membership base.

Sheeds also said he's happy to be a mentor and someone to chat to for any player.

It was so well staged it was comical

Actually I was taken back by the surface at Punt Road- shocking... quicker we start training at Craigieburn the better

All training this month is at Vic Park so it sounds as though Craigieburn won't be right for training to at least March which is what TFL said a while back.

Yep the handshakes were comical. Like the Ch 7 crew had told them to just pretend people like you and Sheeds have never met each other before  :wallywink.

Someone at work mentioned that they walked past PRO and the surface was shocking. The sooner that they get the work done there, the better for the club and fans who want to see them training at our spiritual home.

Is district cricket being player there?
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I think it was sometime in March when it's meant to start. They had to wait for all the promised money to come in from the respective government and AFL authorities, and they were awaiting the final council permit for the indigenous centre plus putting the whole project out to tender. It's expected to take 12-18 months to complete the redevelopment so it hopefully will be all finished by mid-late 2010.

IIRC they said at the AGM that the first part of the works would be re-configuring the ground and drought proofing it and that was start after the cricket season
