dusty on his own is worth pick 1. a pick 3 who in hindsight could easily have been pick 1 himself, travelling along OK and not too far off entering his best years in terms of football.
gee you argue he is worth more than pick 1

I agree with this, but what about in this case where he can just walk in for free if they wanted to be jerks?

the problem is we supposedly paid overs for him last time, no thanks to Sheeds,  so fair chance he wants more than that

Agree with Al, id say he is worth more.

would people tear up if they offered us say a player plus Pick 1.

The thing is GWS need experienced players and i dont think they could afford a player like Dusty who is still developing. Id say they are more likely to go after NDS, in fact id be putting my house on it he heads north.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Then we set him up with a couple of hookers, lines of coke and some prescription drugs and watch the fallout

WP any comments?

You have been dead right on all of our players

Dusty will sign yeah?

Surely when we dump mcguane and nahas we will surely have enough in the cap

If we lose Dusty hopefully the club come out and explain his there was no money left after signing Grigg, Mcguane and Nahas on descent size contracts

Firstly, I have always said I believe Dusty & Jack will re-sign. Nothing has happened for me to change that view.

Lot of posturing going on IMHO.

Will say I am not a fan of Ralph Carr, relatively new as a player manager and Dusty would be in his top 5 clients behind Cloke at 1. Reckon he is trying to make a name for himself again like he did with Cloke. I really do question what sort of advice he is giving his young client in this case.  ;) Other thing is we don't know what other people (eg his family) are advising him as well.

Second, this isn't about whether we have room in the cap, it is in part as Caro rightfully points out about us not paying "overs". Players can not and should not hold the club to ransom anymore

I reckon Caro is spot on in her opinion here, RFC has been very good to Dusty and it should IMV play a part in his decision but unfortunately I doubt player managers see it or advise it that way

agree

seriously what is mcgaune on? delist give $ to dusty and jack problem solved.

I wouldn't have luke in coburg best 22 - would rather give games to astubry, darrou, griffiths, elton, etc.

We have to be strong re player payments considering the stable of young colts who will be requesting a collective raise in the coming years. I would hate to overpay Martin and lose a McBean (should he continue his promising start) or Ellis in 2 years time. Pick one and a player would be just fine if he turns out to be an ungrateful mercenary. I hope he sees the light.........but can he?

According to Mark Stevens just now on Ch 7, contract talks between Dusty and the Club have been put off until the end of the season. Stevens said he still believe Dusty will stay at Richmond but both Sydney clubs are sniffing around.

UPDATE 30/9/2013:

Martin has committed to a further two seasons at the Club, ensuring he will remain a Tiger until at least the end of 2015.

That's funny, Julian De Stoop said on Fox sports news around 6.30 tonight that Dusty should be signed with in the 2-3 weeks  :rollin

At least Barrett has something else other than Essendon and Jack to talk about on the Footy Show now.
