I'd be resting him next week if he's available.

Bloke has been carrying that backline since Rance retired. Without Balta and Broad there to help him out he must be stuffed.

Been a very long 5 years the best backman in the best backlines of this this decade , but can’t do it on his own even though he tried, deserves a break and a rest

From SEN:

Lyon and Tim Watson didn’t like Richmond defender Dylan Grimes’ elbow to the back of GWS forward Harry Himmelberg.

Watson asked: “What about the Dylan Grimes one on Himmelberg on Friday night?”

Lyon: “Hated it.

“If you’re the forward standing in front of a backman…”

Watson: “You don’t deserve that, do you?”

Lyon: “Yeah. Then everyone jumped up in arms saying it was a ridiculous free kick – no it’s not.

“It’s a free kick.”

Watson: “I’m with you on that.

“It might have been lightish, but at the same time it was unnecessary.”

you watch that bull poo on tele and then you have to put up with nuffies like brown watson and Lyon no wonder so many people seem totally disenchanted with the game.

Fair dinkum the game has become unwatchable outside of watching your own team.

I wonder how many supporters out there used to watch most games but now only watch their own club? i certainly cant stand watching the crap when richmond are not playing.

That's me. Admittedly I have kids now but I used to watch an extra 1-3 games/weekend. Now it's too boring.

I barely watch any game that’s not Richmond. Very very rare. Can’t stand the stupid rules they’ve stuffed up the game - prior opportunity the worst of the lot and the this new standing the mark rule is absolute rubbish.

I actually like watching games from the 90’s instead, footy at its best.
The club that keeps giving.

Only watch neutral games if the result effects us or to watch a player who's been linked to us or might be available fe Dunstan on the weekend or Cerra during the year....other than just bits and pieces of matches here and there...like watching certain players, like atm Toby Greene and young Cox from the Bummers (oo-er)... :shh

Grimeys' life as a farmer:

In October we ticked over 5 years on the farm at @mountmacedonwinery, and given it hasn’t always been smooth sailing and we all tend to only post the highlights on insta, here are 10 pics of some of our swear word moments over the years.

In order:
dodgy handbrake = runaway tractor,
hand / arm in sick cow,
crushed our farm truck,
sheep bitten by fox,
rolled the bobcat down a hill,
tree fallen on restaurant before a wedding,
tree fallen on vineyard,
bogged the mower (second time that afternoon),
dragging a rotting kangaroo out of a dam,
one very happy farmer👌🏻

Dylan Grimes’ elevation to the captaincy role at Richmond places him up there with Club ‘Immortal’ Francis Bourke as the most decorated defender in Tigerland history.

Grimes has a super-impressive football CV – three premiership medals, (2017, 2019, 2020) a Jack Dyer Medal (2021), All-Australian blazer (2019), and now adds to that the honour of being the Club’s co-captain.

Bourke is a five-time Richmond premiership player (1967, 1969, 1973, 1974, 1980), but two of those were as a wingman in the early phase of his league football career (‘67 and ‘69).

He was the Tigers’ captain for two seasons (1976-77) and also a Jack Dyer Medallist (1970).

St Francis, as he’s affectionately known, is a revered figure at Punt Road . . . Richmond royalty, in fact. For Grimes to be rated alongside him, in terms of what he’s achieved throughout his playing career across the Tigers’ backline, is a huge compliment.

Grimes underwent thumb surgery today (RFC)
« Reply #1135 on: March 07, 2022, 06:02:38 PM »
Richmond co-captain Dylan Grimes underwent surgery today to repair a ligament injury to his left thumb that occurred in the second quarter of Saturday’s AAMI Community Series match against Hawthorn.

At this stage Grimes’ availability is doubtful for Round 1 against Carlton.

Don't know. Perhaps Grimesy thought he tape it up and go back on.
