Needs to make a huge jump this year. This year needs to be a breakout year for him. Has taken small steps from 2005-09. Will be in the system for a sixth year and needs to take some huge strides this year in terms of constistency and performance.

A repeat of his mid season form for 20 rounds next year would be a great starting point.

25 possessions a game breaking the lines using the footy to advantage and an average of 1 goal per game including 1 assist per game would be a good starting point.

he made a huge jump last yr, had one real shocker v the doggies in a game he should not have played , we all know why, but after that was our best and fairest by a mile, had a better yr than deledio, yes lids finished strong but blingers had a better yr, too bad wallace never wanted tp kneel infront of blingers

His last four rounds were woeful TT. That Sydney game is round 19 there was a passage of play in the 2nd quarter at the Punt Rd End were he had 4 chances to dispose of the ball or get it and he was either tackled or brushed asise by the Swans players and in the end he got caught in possession and penalised. The Collingwood game a week later was just marginally better. He had his best season statistically but his season was bookended by a poor start and an even poorer finish. If he can eradicate this he'll be a worthy 200+ game player and in an improving and young side he will be super important in the roles he plays because he will play them expertly and extremely well.

He had few mates though Tucker. I got the impression that towards the end of the season the players were just looking for the season to end (I know i was). I don't read to much into players form from these games. Hopefully a simpler game plan where everyone knows their role will bring out the best in Tambling.. and a few of his mates. When he plays with purpose he really shows what he can do.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

I agree Al he had plenty of mates however this is where consistency comes in. Lids played some of his best footy and the cynics would say it was for a contract extension and what not. Could be true could not be.Nevertheless it got Lids a second successive B&F in a year when Jacko was leading from a very early stage.

Sometimes it's okay to be a downhill skier but the true character of an individual or a club is how they react to adversity and difficulty which for a long time he did as our season was gone from a very early stage but many blokes had no urgency in their footy and hung up their boots for the year after the Melbourne game Richie included. It's also okay to point out others too but they are just as guilty as Richie. I like Richie its nothing personal I just want him to fulfill the potential he has promised hence I scrupulously examine everything he does.

The same could be said for about another dozen or so of his teammates but it competitiveness and consistency that we crave as a club in our players so hopefully Dimma has brought this up not only to Richie but to those on the list who have indiscressed in this way at the end of last season. If he can do this he'll be a much better player and will be worthy of his new found status and pick 4 selection.

If Blingers cranks out a few 30 possie games throughout the season he'll shut up he'll finally shut up his critics for good. WP will know better being at the ground but based on the commentary it sounded as though Hardwick threw Richie into the middle in the first quarter.

I would love to see Tambling play off the wing this year as he breaks the lines well and is reliable by foot. He has also gained some size this year which will make him better around the packs and at winning his own ball. It will all depend on if Farmer and Connors can provide the required run, foot-skills and defensive work to take his place at HBF. I hoping they can be better in the role because I've always believed Bling was a more attacking midfielder than a running defender.
