i wonder what the reason behind the date switch is ??
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

All Stars game to play in Alice Springs

The AFL has decided the Indigenous All Stars game against Richmond will be played at Traeger Park in Alice Springs on Friday.

The game was scheduled to take place a week from Saturday at Darwin's Marrara Oval, but the ground was deemed too wet after an inspection by the AFL yesterday.

AFL officials visited Darwin's Gardens Oval at lunchtime today to see if it was good enough, but the ground was also decided to be too soggy.

Before today's announcement, the heavyweights of Northern Territory cricket spoke out against moving the All Stars game to Traeger Park.

NT Cricket's Andrew Ramsay told the ABC that the game was scheduled within two days of the start of the National Indigenous Cricket Carnival.

"There's a very serious risk that if during the game it happens to rain, if the water gets into the ground while the match is being played, then the centre wicket will be chopped up and we won't be able to play cricket on it," Mr Ramsay said.

He said around 400 players travel to Alice Springs for the competition.

"I just would hate to see that jeopardised by a knee jerk decision to move an AFL game to our ground two days prior to our event," he said.

AFL Central Australia supported the All Stars coming to Traeger Park.

Bev Ellis from AFL Central Australia said the game could draw the same crowds in Alice Springs as in Darwin.

AFLNT said anyone in Darwin who bought a ticket would get a full refund.

Doesn't seem to be mentioned in the Sydney TV guide. Typical.

Is it live? Should be, we don't have to worry about better homes and gardens  :whistle
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Yep the game is live. Alice Springs is CST without daylight savings. So they are an hour and a half behind Melbourne time (Alice Springs 7.10pm = Melbourne 8.40pm)
