Winners and losers: the fixture is in

   Matthew Lloyd
    The Age
    July 7, 2013

All this is hard for some club supporters to accept. Take, for example, one of the beneficiaries of a good draw this year - Richmond, which has played the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda twice in the space of 13 games.

The Tigers have banked all 16 points on offer yet they don't meet the grand finalists, Sydney and Hawthorn, for the first time until rounds 18 and 19.

There is no doubt that Richmond is on the march and has significantly improved - but when you delve into the fixture, perhaps we also need to assess whether its form is true or not. It can be hard to get a true gauge on whose form is real and whose isn't.

Troll
Has probably had the article since Rd 1 and amended now  :wallywink
We did finish outside the 8 last year like blues and bombers and as a result this year's result is reflective of that just as anyone's is that finished outside the 8.
Blues play port and saints twice so what
Bummers play West coast and gold coast so what
Nought play lions and crows twice and finished in the 8
No point in bringing up the draw Lloydo because it's only relevant as long as it suits your agenda  ::)

Sh it if we had beaten nought he wouldn't have published an article at all

Wow.  A game on the Saturday of the last round.  Been a while since we've reached those lofty heights.

Securing ANZ Stadium [for Sydney vs Hawthorn] means the AFL will likely schedule the Essendon-Richmond match for Saturday night at the MCG.
