Playing this guy proves that the club has failed in both recruiting and development.

It’s ok to top up with a project player when you’re winning premierships and have salary cap restraints but we just keep playing this dud over and over.

It’s embarrassing watching him.

Why Ryan is not playing and getting experience is a joke.

Should be drooped for his petulant display on the bench when he was subbed out

***should never have been selected in the 1st place, especially at Marvel

Lol at this muppett.
Been very obvious almost from the day he stepped thru the doors that he was, well just plain ordinary.
Yet here we are stuck with him for another season next year because the list management has become shizen.

Just my opinion but the three pillars for success have been atrocious over the last 4 years. Recruiting, List management and development.

Utterly useless and a complete liability at Marvel. :thumbsdown

Sampson as our backup next year. Trade out Soldo while we can still get a return.

If he hadn't played in a successful era we'd be mentioning him in the same breath as Patto, Gus, Browne, X-Man & Hamspud..... :shh

Well let's be honest we tried, GWS wanted him and he wouldn't go

Perhaps after being subbed today and clearly not being happy about it he will see the writing on the wall

5 scoring shots is the most Ivan has ever had in his 56 games career (previous best was 3).

9 disposals (7k, 2h, 6k, 4u, 55.6% eff.)
5 marks (2 contested)
2 tackles
3 clearances (1 centre clearance)
2 inside 50s
15 hitouts
247 metres gained
1 intercept
9 score involvements
2 goals
3 behinds
71% time on ground

He was great.

Very physical.

Loved it. Needs to be the new standard.

Best game I've seen him play. Someone got into his ear that's for sure.

IMO he stays. Only because once again just like the Jack Situation, if nank goes down who is doing our ruck? Samson and who else?

Cupboard is very bare so soldo stays for another year as back up.

First off going to acknowledge a pretty decent game.
Trouble is ive seen enough to suggest that was just an abberation and most things lead to that. Lets ask 1 good game over a big body of work dating back how many years.Or the overall body of work over 1 good game.

To be honest i just cannot see him ever being a good consistent player in enough areas. Personally i think Ryan has it all over him just needs to keep building.

If Ivan is traded say. Then of course we target a young ruckman  well if im honest we target 2 ruckmen because how on earth can anyone continue with Colina given those circumstances.

Soldo going nowhere – for now

Richmond is keen to hold onto Ivan Soldo despite Port Adelaide’s interest in him as a ruckman to play alongside Jordan Sweet.

Soldo battled plantar fascia issues this season but his form was strong playing the last seven games of the year in a row.

The Power has delisted ruckman Brynn Teakle and, while it has offered Scott Lycett another year, footy boss Chris Davies said last week he was banged up and pondering retirement.

That is unlikely, with the Roos, St Kilda, Geelong and Essendon all needing a back-up ruckman.

But Richmond has no intention of releasing Soldo, given it has only young rucks Samson Ryan and Ben Miller under co-captain Todd Nankervis.

He comes out of contract next year but they could still trade him then so aren’t inclined to let him go.

Under new coach Adem Yze, the Tigers will need to get a trade deal done for Hawthorn’s Jacob Koschitzke, who has asked for a trade to Punt Road.
