Out:
Drummond
Griffiths
McDonough

In:
Lennon
Vickery
Chaplin/Elton

Consider Geelong's talls:
Forwards - Hawkins (198/108), Clark (200/103), Walker (196/99)
Rucks - Stanley (200/98), Blicavs (198/97)

Will need a mobile ruck to go with Blicavs, and 3 strong KPD's for Geelong's forwards (Rance, Chaplin and Astbury).

Out: Drummond (knee), Griffiths (calf), Morris (omitted), Lloyd (omitted)

In: Foley, C.Ellis, Lennon, Vickery.

As much as Ivan is struggling this year, I just can't bring myself to ever seeing Shaun "can't mark, can't kick" Hampson in the seniors again.

The only time I want to see Hammertime is when MTV are doing a 90s special.

Maric on one leg is better.

Don't need Hampson for this week. Maric + Vickery should be a reasonable match-up for Stanley + Blicavs.

It's the big blokes with leap that Maric will get smashed by. Sandi, Jacobs, Goldstein, Bellchambers etc. Even Lobbe is better.

I reckon we are playing one tall short .therefore we don't get a miss match up inside F50
Reckon they play all 3 this week
Risky but they should do it
Problem is there isn't a tall up forward when Maric goes off for a rest

Actually think there's been a marked improvement in Maric's form the last 2 weeks. His around the ground stuff in Brissie was good

He was good against Jamar because Jamar doesn't jump, so they were rucking the same way.

I'd rather play anyone that Hampson. He is non competitive on so many levels, just being a tap ruckman isn't enough

The Barometer - Round 5
Herald-Sun
April 27, 2015

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: The axe could fall on any or all of Sam Lloyd, Kamdyn McIntosh, Matt Arnot and Matt McDonough who all had little or no impact in Friday night’s disastrous loss. A tougher question is what do with Steven Morris. The attempt to turn him into a forward has been abandoned after three weeks and playing in defence he managed just four handballs. The coach loves his attitude, but is that enough? There will be at least two forced changes with Ben Griffiths to miss at least a week and luckless teenager Nathan Drummond gone for the year.

ON THE CUSP: Some positive news with the Tigers’ VFL side recording its first win of the year in a 53-point thumping of Frankston on Saturday. Nathan Foley (30 disposals, six clearances) was best on ground, Ty Vickery kicked four goals and is a natural replacement for Grittiths and last year’s top draft pick Corey Ellis shone with 24 touches, 11 clearances and a goal. Perennial emergency Ben Lennon kicked two goals and if Richmond wants a back-up ruckman Shaun Hampson had a lazy 69 hitouts.

AL PATON’S FORECAST: On a big-picture front, the Tigers are desperate for their high draft picks of recent years to take the next step and help the usual suspects Cotchin, Martin, Riewoldt, Maric and Deledio (when he’s there) carry the load. Ben Lennon and Corey Ellis might get their chance this week along with Ty Vickery. In the short-term a lot could be fixed by playing with an intensity demanded at the top level and kicking straight; Richmond kicked 6.15 and missed three set shots within 20m. Next up: Geelong, a team Richmond has not beaten since 2006. The Cats are more gettable than at any time since then, but are the Tigers up to it?

The news last night said Newy was a chance to return this week but Lids and Chaplin are likely to miss again.

NOOOOOO!!! I agree Sam Lloyd should be dropped. He kicked zero goals against the Demons, kicked 1 goal when he should've done more in the demolition of the Lions and only kicked 1 against the Bulldogs. He should make way for Lennon. I would give McIntosh another game to redeem himself and Arnot and McDonough should be retained as I think it's pretty rough to make them the omissions after one appearance when the entire team played like crap.

I don't see a mass overhaul though because the club probably believes we will make finals.

Based on VFL performances I would go

Vickery for Griffith (reluctantly)
Foley for Drummond
Lennon for Lloyd

Maybe Dea for Morris?
Ellis surely could come in for Grigg?

We can't win without these two.
Chaplin is a shitman but he's a link.

Latest news of twitter via the RFC is that Chaplin is now likely to play this week against the Cats
