His last month has been one of the positive from this season

Rioli again was one of the team’s best players, finishing the match with 22 disposals, six marks, six intercepts, four score involvements and 252 metres gained.

The triple premiership Tiger has totally thrived since being moved from the forward line to defence.

In six games there, he is averaging 19.9 disposals, 4.6 marks, 5.6 intercepts and 241.1 metres gained per match.

Credit where its due he has been okay back there.
Still i would prefer we play him on a wing allowing Mansell a spot in the backline. I cant see Mansell playing any other role where i think Rioli has the attributes to also play wing. Just my opinion but we need to do something about McIntosh.

Vlastuin - ?????? -  Broad/Mansell
Stack - Balta - Grimes

Maybe short term Mansell misses out for Broad but i still would like to see em try and play Mansell. Maybe we just give Rioli Shorts spot. I just dont see how we play em all and i prefer Stack and Broad at this stage as part of the back 6.Find a good KPD to replace Astbury .

Looking at that we do have to ask the questions about DES, Houli and Short.I know a lot of supporters will get miffed at suggesting Short should be traded but i would definately be sounding out other clubs.

Interesting Claw, personally I am a big fan of McIntosh and think he has the engine and is very useful on the wing / swing defender, sometimes his ball use is iffy but his run and ability to cut in and redirect through the centre is a great attribute IMHO

I agree with Claw about MacIntosh his field kicking is terrible for a wingman, those chaos balls inside 50 were perfect when we had small forwards but that ship has sailed and with our forward set up the way it is now we need some genuine skilled players that can kick.

I like Mansell down back it’s a bit early to know for sure but I like what he brings.

Try Broad on a wing :shh - he has the tank and his kicking is better than most.

I’d like to see Stack on the other wing but we need him more at half back.

Unless we find some tackling small forwards that can kick the footy inside 50 we need to find some better kicks.
Pickett up forward didn’t work.
The club that keeps giving.

Daniel Rioli is open to signing a deal as short as a single season at Richmond as he settles into his new role as a defensive rebounder.

His manager Ralph Carr told the Herald Sun out-of-contract Rioli was keen to stay at the club despite being dropped and then repurposed in the back six.

With Bachar Houli pushed into retirement there is scope for Rioli and Sydney Stack to become the new defensive duo alongside Jayden Short and Nick Vlastuin.

Rioli settled in well in the last eight weeks of the year, kicking the ball with 85 per cent efficiency in seven of those eight games and providing valuable run.

A two-year deal would get Rioli to free agency but Carr said he could also sign a one-year deal then assess his options.”
