has there ever been a successful small forward over 190cm?
According to some 200 is the new 190,  190 is the new 180. It is quite funny.

well, jack dyer played ruck at 185cm
nat fythe non ruck midfielder 190cm.

but that doesnt fit with preconceptions so just ignore it and hope it goes away, hey?

Jack Titus was 175cm and kicked almost 1000 goals as FF
Dusty Martin plays midfield/smallfwd at 187.

Surely there's a point there.

I honestly think we've potentially got a bit of a steal with Rioli His combine performance was absolutely elite, just didn't play enough footy during the year to get his stocks higher. I think he's got a fair bit of natural physical development to come, which is why he's 2-3 years off. Carn the Tiges!

Have to say I am really happy with this selection

We've been a bit daring, rather than doing what we normally do that is being conservative

Agree. Happy with selection. Brings x factor to the club.

Will watch with interest especially our management of the young man, i just hope our selection panel and player conditioning and mentoring system work well to foster Daniel to make him the best he can be at Richmond.

Not gunna bag the kid good luck to him.
I"m just disappointed we did not take the best available imo,  or  address some serious, greater  needs.

IYO they didn't but in the Club's opinion they did

Let's see how it pans out

Has great raw talent, the traits that should see him succeed ,  I expect we ll be a bit more patient with him than bling, minimum half year at vfl at least. Needs to add some size and build some confidence playing against men
If a small forward was indeed what we wanted, he s great pick. Prob at a similar stage to Eddie betts when he was drafted
Wasn't Bett's taken as a rookie pick?

Anyway, at least the Rioli name is back where it belongs - in yellow and black!
I think betts was yes, the thing I like about rioli is that he can pounce on a loose ball like a seagull on a hot chip. He has plenty of time as we have some experienced players that will be knocking on the door come  r1. I'm happy enough to see him spend plenty of time at vfl next year

That is a great highlights reel

http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/2015-11-24/2015-national-draft-pick-13-daniel-rioli

He has speed, agility, creativity and is willing to take the tackle and dish it off.

This kid has all the hallmarks to be a really good small forward.  KB Mk II, I hope he is as hungry for it as KB, nickname him Greedy instead then.

That little highlight at the 1.14 minute mark was scintillating and something I used to see his great Uncle do time and time again. You can't learn that stuff. It is innate. Just brilliant!!!
