Wow. You really love the Big Spud don't you?
And why on earth would you drop Rioli?

I'm glad you've seen the light on how useless Morris is. Well done.  :clapping

Jack. You're looking at it the wrong way.

Any this stage you shouldn't care about the loss. It's the fact we continue to lose playing guys who have maxed out on improvement years ago.
Play the kids. Doesn't matter if they only have 3 possessions. If they show something (and Rioli shows something) get as many games into them as they will improve.

Look at Cellis. He was very poor in the last few weeks yet we stuck with him and was one of our better players last night. It's because these kids CAN improve. Spuds like Morris, Chaplin and Hampson won't improve, they are just going to get worse now.

We should be getting as many games into our juniors now. The season is shot. We should be using it as a development year.

Absolutely agree :clapping No more Hampson, Houli, B.Ellis, Chaplin, Vickery, Grigg, Morris. These players are inept and are a major reason why we are in trouble. They don't get the hard ball, play for team mates, decision making - well they have none, footy smarts - nil. Play the young guy to see what they have to offer and I would give Griffiths one last chance to step up. From the VFL games I have seen live this year, the following players need to be exposed to senior level or need to be played: Castagna, Short, Elton, Markov, Lennon, Chol, C. Moore and a game or two for Soldo & Drummond. Marcon, Butler, McBean, Broard, Hunt, A. Moore don't have what it takes. We are in a mess :help

I know. They got it horribly wrong. However, not to acknowledge that and to continue to go down the same path is worse than getting it wrong. We all make mistakes. What defines us as people of reasonable intellect is being able to recognize that you've taken the wrong path and reset yourself on a new direction as fast as possible. Being able to really recognize the problems and get rid of them.
The club needs to take action fast. Admit they got it wrong and start rebuilding now.
I'll back them in if they have the guts to do this. Doing nothing is going to lose the club a lot more support in the long run.

I actually agree as well. Thing is the kids need to be managed properly.
The way it is supposed to work is kids  play well in the twos  get senior games, start to struggle at seniors and back to the twos to gain confidence and form. The thing that keeps on smacking us in the face is very few kids are getting a kick in the twos and that is translating into senior form.

All the talk is play kids and i agree with those sentiments, but  maybe it is time to have a good hard look at them because imo there is a lot of unwarranted faith in how good they are.
Also believe it or not we have played juniors so far this year 7 of them and to a man their impact has been minimal. In fairness to those kids that should be expected to a degree but i go back to what i said when this happens they should be sent back to the twos for form and confidence.

Our juniors 18 - 21 as of march 24 the start of this years season.
Butler  19yo -
Castagna  19yo -
Chol  19yo -
Drummond  21yo -
C Ellis   19yo -
Lennon   20yo -
McBean   21yo -
McIntosh  21yo -
McKenzie  20yo -
Menadue  19yo
Short  20yo -
Soldo  19yo -
C Moore 19yo -
Vlastuin   21yo -

We have 14 junior players on our list and so far this year 7 have been played. With a rebuild imminent some of  the questions i am asking is
What do we actually have with our junior crop.  How many will make it or look likely to make it? Are any of them A graders ? How many can make a decent contribution to the seniors if played.
Is there enough quality when compared to other clubs juniors?

The impression i get is people think we have enough junior  talent and dont need to go backwards too far, it will all be good just play the kids. I think people are in for a rude shock.
Play the kids for sure, but people should not be expecting great onfield results if we do play them enmasse.  Will people have the patience and be prepared for a  period where just being competetive will suffice. Some will but my experience of tiger supporters on the whole most won't.

You talk about the VFL side and its players like you know what you are talking about. You don't.
Putting Rioli back into that sh-7 isn't the answer. He will learn nothing.
And neither is playing Chaplin, Grigg, Houli, Hunt, Hampson, Morris, Batchelor, A. Moore in front of guys that in time could make a difference.
I for one would even continue to go to the footy if I wasn't going to see the same old sh|+ on repeat.
Play the kids now and find out if they are worth keeping at the end of the year when these other Aholes are hopefully kicked out the door.

Wait - so you'll drop Castagna but retain Morris?

Like shuffling the deckchairs on a sinking ship.

Out: Hampson, Chaplin, Morris, Lambert (inj.)

In: McBean, Griffiths, Vlastuin, McIntosh.

Any chance of Lennon getting a game?
Didn't play in the VFL game due to a corky apparently.

AFL live is saying Cotchin is out for two to three weeks because of a broken cheek bone. Would love it if they did the following but won't. Out: Cotchin(inj), Lambert(inj)Hampson, Houli, Grigg, Morris, Ellis B, Chaplin and Vickery. In: McBean, Griffiths, Lennon, Marcon(if possible), McIntosh, Vlastuin(if ready but doubt it), Short and Grimes(if fit)

I think your comprehension skills have gone to the dogs mate. On two occasions in that post  i inferred we play the kids and on another two occasions i said play the kids, so we  actually agree.

What i dont agree with is playing them enmasse and playing them week after week when they are not getting  a kick.
Aholes like those you named have got games because they actually have given more than what the kids have!!!!!! Doesnt that concern you? our kids cant outperform such hacks.
This is the trouble with the footy club, Hacks keep getting games because no one from below shows enough to force them out. If you question the hacks then you need to also question the ability of those below which includes our kids.

The thing i was trying to  bring to the fore or questioning was how good are our juniors and are we over rating them. Seems to me atm most of the juniors cant get a kick in the two's and when played in the seniors can't get a kick there as well.
It has made it hard to first promote them to seniors and then keep them in.

I actually thought i asked some pretty pertinent questions about our juniors,  i will continue to ask them.Like you i dont want to see the hacks get games, and i want as many kids as is practicable get games i just think it can be done without throwing every kid we have  into games  enmasse. We have played 7 of 14 kids so far. It is not as if some (in fact half of our juniors) are not being given  opportunity.
